A City Founded by a Prince. New Braunfels, Texas, known as “The Gateway to the Texas Hill Country,” is located between Austin and San Antonio. Since its founding by German settlers led by Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels in 1845, it has been home to citizens who built lives on hard work and a love for celebration and togetherness. Those settlers began the town that is now ranked the second fastest growing city in the second fastest growing county in the nation. New Braunfels boasts two crystal-clear rivers, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, Natural Bridge Caverns, Gruene, and many other attractions. The city is also home to world-class restaurants, Texas’ oldest bakery, and the annual 10-day salute to sausage called Wurstfest. Learn more at www.playinnewbraunfels.com.
A School Founded for a King. In 1981, a group of parents seeking an alternative to public education founded New Braunfels Christian Academy as a co-educational, college-preparatory, and non- denominational Christian day school. The goal was and remains the moral, intellectual, and physical development of students in a stimulating and nurturing environment for the glory of God – the King of Kings. What began with 30 pre-school, kindergarten, and first grade students in a rented house at 576 Comal Avenue is today a complete private Christian school with more than 435 students enrolled in grades Pre-K through 12 on two campuses. With an enduring commitment to the Christian family, the New Braunfels Christian Academy serves the local community by teaching and guiding children to worship God and respect the authority of His Word. We emphasize parental authority and expect students to respect others as we endeavor to build Christian character. Learn more at www.nbcatx.org.
Prospective Employee Welcome Thank you for taking the time to check out our website and the employment opportunities we have available! I know that when people start to look for a new position or feel as if the Lord is calling them in a new direction, they are trying to gather as much information as possible to make a wise decision. As the Head of School, I feel it is really important for you to know what kind of culture you are stepping into before you apply. New Braunfels Christian Academy is an amazing place full of passionate Jesus lovers and chasers, people who care deeply about one another, and care deeply about our school. Our mission statement accurately defines who we are: a community engaged in relentless pursuit of Truth and excellence in education, relationships, and leadership, all for God’s glory! So, what does that really look like as an employee at NBCA? It is a gift to serve alongside this group of people each day who tirelessly pour into students and one another in an effort to truly do everything as if working for the Lord, not for men. Here are the three things we expect of each other every day: We expect excellence, not perfection. Colossians 5:23-24 We don’t expect people to walk on water, but we do expect people to prepare well, execute intentionally, and really model a life that looks like Colossians 5:23-24 We expect growth, not stagnation. 2 Peter 1:5-8 We should all be continually growing and learning as educators. There will never be a point where we get to “coast” and just be satisfied with “what we have always done.” We expect unity, not uniformity. 1 Peter 3:8-9 We won’t always agree, but we can always come to the table for discussion with humility. We can’t always control what comes at us from outside the school, but we are certainly not going to be people that tolerate dissension, backbiting, and unforgiveness. If all this excites you, and you have spent time with the Lord and feel confident in taking the next step, we encourage you to apply! God Bless and Go Wildcats, Nick Reeves Head of School New Braunfels Christian Academy
