Dear Friends,
Warning: if you read the New York Times and similar media, you’ll
get the impression that faith in God is dying out, that religion is a
thing of the past, and that Jesus is not relevant anymore. And they
think that is a good thing.
But if you’ve been around St. Lawrence and Sacred Heart the past
few weeks, you’ll have become aware there are people who never
got the memo that it is all over for God and Catholics. That’s what
the secular media wants you to think. But it just ain’t so.
On Corpus Christi, June 6, hundreds of parishioners and friends marched through the Village of Brewster
with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament held high, joyfully singing and witnessing about our belief that He is
truly, actually present on earth in this Sacrament that is at the core of our faith.
At Sacred Heart on June 13, hundreds more of us gathered for an Outdoor Mass to commemorate the
