Beauty of the Peace Art Competition
                               Sponsored by:

The sponsors would like to welcome artists to the competition. We feel this is a
great opportunity to showcase artists of the Peace Region. Contest entries must
represent Beauty of the Peace. This may be however that speaks to you and is not
limited to landscapes! The top 20 entries will be on public display and for sale in
the Grant Berg Gallery. During the exhibition, works entered for competition will
be judged by a people’s choice ballot.
The staff at Grant Berg Gallery have taken every precaution possible to ensure the
legitimacy of the voting procedures and trust that the voting public will choose
the entry that they feel is the best in the competition. This competition is open to
artists 18 years of age or older.
An Opening Reception for the Jim Pattison Beauty of the Peace Art Competition
will be at Grant Berg Gallery Thursday, March 14th. The closing date for voting is
April 20th with winners being announced on air April 23rd in the afternoon on Big
Country with JP and on Q99 with Cristy Ellen.

not only protect the sponsors, but the artists as well. Please read the definition of
originality and sign the following declaration:

All works must be completely original to be eligible for contest entry. The artists work
must be conceived from an original idea developed from his or her imagination. This
   means that your artwork CANNOT be a copy or replica or study of another person(s);
photograph(s) or artwork(s) of any type. Even if permission is granted by another party
for the use of their works, it will not be considered completely original and therefore
will be ineligible for this contest. Any violation to these rules will result in
disqualification from the contest and possible legal action from the infringed copyright
holder. If you are basing your original artwork on a photograph, then the photograph
must be taken by the artist personally and must be included with the submission entry.
All works must be original in that no instructor was present before or during the final
product. This includes student art works, paint nights, paint party’s, etc. Discovery of
   such will lead to disqualification.

I, the artist/exhibitor have read and understood the above statement
regarding originality and copyright and I agree to abide by it:
