IN OUR PARISH COMMUNITY January 2, 2019 Dear Parishioners of La Purisima, As you know, Fr. Bao Thai, the pastor of Saint Cecelia’s in Tustin is going to be the Interim Parish Administrator beginning this month of January 2020 until July when the permanent pastor will arrive. He is a wonderful priest and I promise you will enjoy getting to know him. Please give him the enthusiastic support that you gave to me these past seven months. At least with all these interim administrators you get to know more of the priests of the Diocese of Or- ange. You should know who your next pastor will be in early May or even earlier. I want to tell you how much I have enjoyed being with you. You are a very wonderful group of people to work with, to pray with and to share life with. I very much enjoy parish life where you get to know people and share the good times and the hard times together. The most important part are the relationships and friendships we develop. They are so essential in sup- porting our most important relationship: our relationship with Jesus and our friendship with God. I wish I had discovered you all ten years ago when I was younger and full of energy. Then I would have stayed for sure. But I look forward to visits with you in the future. I will be living at Saint Justin parish in neighboring Anaheim (Ball Rd near Brookhurst) so I am not far away. Fr. Nicholas is Parochial Vicar there. Please pray for your new pastor and all priests. Disfruto mucho de la vida parroquial en la que conoces a la gente y compartes los buenos y los malos momentos juntos. La parte más importante son las relaciones y amistades que desarrollamos. Son tan esenciales para apoyar nuestra relación más importante: nuestra relación con Jesús y nuestra amistad con Dios. Ojalá te hubiera descubierto hace diez años cuando era más joven y lleno de energía. Entonces me habría quedado seguro. Pero espero visitas contigo en el futuro. reach Program every quarter. They
are badly in need of shampoos, con-
ditioners, lotions, toothbrush, tooth-

Students Celebrate the Child Mary Celebra on
The celebra on of this 400 year old tradi on every 21st of November
directs our a en on to Mary, the Mother of God. In thanksgiving for a
frui ul beginning of the first school for girls in France in 1610, Saint Jeanne
wished to consecrate the pupils to Mary. She encouraged them to make
their own personal consecra on in homage of
their heavenly Mother, promising to imitate
her in the state to which God would call them.
Saint Jeanne was deeply aware that God calls
each person to live their life fully in a
par cular voca on and thus be faithful
instruments in crea ng God's kingdom among
us all. By this celebra on she emphasized that
Mary is our model and companion in following
the teachings of her Son, Jesus. The
celebra on of this feast has a solidarity
component in that the children are asked to
express their care for others in need through
various ac vi es. These vary from one country
to another, responding to the par cular needs in each context or to
situa ons on a worldwide level. Company of Mary devo onal prac ces and
celebra ons are marked with an awareness and a reaching out to others
characteris c of Company of Mary spirituality.
