Mass Intentions & Memorial Candles
If you would like to have a Mass offered for a
particular Intention or for someone who has
died, or if you would like to dedicate a candle
to an intention or a loved one, please call the
parish office. The suggested stipend for the
Mass is $10. The candles are $30 for 1 month,
$60 for 6 months, or $90 for 1 year. Our office
staff will help you find an open date and time
for a Mass, or available
candles for dedications.
Prayer Corner
Please keep all those who are in the military, or are ill or suffering in your prayers.
If you would like to add the name of someone to the Prayer Corner, please call the office.
For those who are ill or homebound: For Fr. Leonard Omolo, Fr. John Betts, Ruthie, Teresa and all those struggling
with illnesses, upcoming surgeries or cancer.
We remember our family members and friends who are serving in the military, and we pray for peace throughout
the world.

In honor of the sacraments and Graduation, the Catholic Daughters of
America will have their gift shop open after Masses the whole month of
May. They have items in, like Saints cards, rosaries, crucifixes, books, statues, Fancy face
masks for dressing up at 1st Communion and more! If you need something ordered, please contact

Liturgical TIDBITS…
Feast of the Ascension of Jesus
The feast of the Ascension commemorates Jesus’ bodily ascent into heaven after His resurrection. Having
completed His earthly mission, Jesus returned to heaven and His father with His eternal body. In this way, He
opens the gates of heaven for all of us. Thus, the Feast of the Ascension is for all Christians, a symbol of hope,
because it reminds us that Christ sits at His father’s right hand, interceding on our behalf. As members of
Christ’s risen body, we await the day when we will be able to enjoy eternal happiness by His side.
Following New Testament accounts, we celebrate Ascension Day on Thursday of the fortieth day of Easter.
While some ecclesiastical provinces in the United States have moved the observance to the following
Sunday, a few have kept it on Thursday.
“Then he led them out as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and blessed them. As he
blessed them, he parted from them and was taken up to heaven.” (Luke 24:50-51)
Fiesta de la Ascensión de Jesús
La fiesta de la Ascensión conmemora la Ascensión de Jesús al cielo después de
resurrección. Habiendo completado su mision terrenal, Jesús regresóal cielo, a su Padre
con su cuerpo. De esta manera, Él abre las puertas de Cielo para que le sigamos. La
Ascensión es para todos los cristianos, un símbolo de esperanza, prque nos recuerda que Cristo se sienta a la
derecha del Padre, intercediendo por nosotros y que un día en que podamos disfrutar de la Felicidad eterna
a su lado.
El Día de la Ascensión se celebra cuarenta días despues de la Pascue, de acuerdo con los relatos del Nuevo
Testamento. Si bien algunas Provincias Eclesiales en los Estados Unidos han trasladado la observancia de esta
fiesta al domingo siguente, algunas la han dejado en jueves.
