                                     17th March 2021

 FROM THE PRESIDENT

Last week was the board meeting and as we have such a great team, I was
able to put in an apology. Peter chaired the board meeting and Tim has
already distributed the minutes and action plan. What a superb team we
                                          have!

This coming Wednesday is a special night as we will be officially inducting
and welcoming Rosemary to the Rotary club of Morialta! So please come
and show your support to welcome a new member.

There will also be a number of guests to the meeting, so a fantastic opportunity to discuss our great community with
potential volunteers for our many activities. It will be guaranteed to be a superb night.

See you all Wednesday.

Yours in Rotary

David Koetsier

It would be appreciated if members could advise Emiko (emiko_mayer@icloud.com 0417 823 873) of
any visitors you intend to bring to meetings. This would greatly assist us in maintaining numbers for
Covid social distancing and to ensure that the President and Chair duly acknowledge all of our visitors.

Aboriginal Health Scholarship Program Update
The Aboriginal Health Scholarship Program, in partnership with Australian Rotary Health, aims to increase the
number of professionally qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the South Australian
 Health Sector.

The program supports students studying towards a health qualification at a degree level (or higher) in areas such
as but not limited to: Medicine, Reg. Nursing, Midwifery, Dentistry, Allied Health, Health promotion,
 Environmental Health.

Rotarian Jane Gascoigne (Campbelltown) and myself, represent Rotary, on an annual Aboriginal Health,
Department for Health and Wellbeing, interview panel, which selects scholarship recipients. This year there are
27 applications for an as yet undisclosed number of scholarships.

Currently, our Club is supporting Jasmyn Lloyd, who is in her second year studying a Bachelor of
Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide. The Club has agreed to support Jasmyn for her entire
degree. The annual financial support offered by R.C. Morialta is $2500. The full scholarship is $5,000 per academic
year (for full time study) paid in instalments and adjusted according to the actual study load.

We look forward to Jasmyn visiting the Club in the next few months to report on her progress.
