The Grape Exchange (TGE) & The JOB Board

This service is provided by the OSU viticulture program. The purpose of this site is to assist grape
growers and wineries in selling and/or buying grapes, wine, juice or equipment and post JOBS
Wanted or JOBS for Hire. The listing will be posted to the “Buckeye Appellation” website
(https://ohiograpeweb.cfaes.ohio-state.edu/) and updates will be sent to all OGEN subscribers via
email. Ads will be deleted after 4 months. If you would like items to continue or placed back on
the exchange, please let me know.
To post new or make changes to current ads, please send an e-mail to Maria Smith
(smith.12720@osu.edu) with the contact and item description information below. Weekly
updates of listings will be e-mailed to OGEN subscribers or as needed throughout the season.
Suggestions to improve the Grape Exchange are also welcome.

Job Description
The Research Assistant 1 B/H conducts experiments in a research vineyard and laboratory; performs experimental
procedures and records and consolidates data; executes planned research activities using observation, measurement
and analytical techniques; collects cane, and plant tissues for lab analyses; performs post-harvest chemical analyses of
berries; performs routine experimental procedures including freezing tests of grape varieties as needed; prepares
research log sheets and maintains records in research vineyard, greenhouse, and laboratory; enters, consolidates, and
tabulates research data for analysis; performs library research on specified topics; analyzes data by conducting statistics
and summarizes for publication; prepares materials for reports to be written by faculty; instructs students in the field
and greenhouse and with laboratory procedures and techniques. This is a temporary position for up to one year based
on funding availability and performance; position located in Wooster, OH.
