175 Years of the YMCA
In 1844 the YMCA was founded by George Williams and
his friends in a draper’s shop in St Paul’s Churchyard,
just outside the big steps of the cathedral. This August
people from YMCAs all over the world came to the Excel
Exhibition Centre in London to celebrate the anniversary
with music, workshops, talks, exhibitions, prayers and
sports opportunities. Our Association supported the event
with three volunteers. Happy Birthday YMCA!

Again we were lucky with the weather. Everyone enjoyed
themselves and had a good chat with Bratwurst and potato
salad on the side. Not to forget the green jelly and ice cream
and lots of other eats and drinks. Heidi and her friends
excelled themselves again. Thank you Heidi and team!
