Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Jerry Raney’s roots-rock band, The Beat Farmers,
brought his music before international audiences via 6 album releases and
numerous tours. His legendary SD - based music career has the 2021 San
Diego Music Awards shining their spotlight on Raney as their “Lifetime
Achievement Honoree”. Guitarist Jack Butler co-founded San Diego icons
Private Domain in 1981, a band that recorded their single, “Absolute
Perfection”, with reggae star Pato Banton. Together Raney & Butler break
out their acoustic guitars to showcase their countless years of experience as
high caliber musicians while covering a variety of genres from Americana,
Blues to Classic Rock.

Amanda is an acoustic singer/songwriter native to San Diego who’s song, “Heart
Pocket” is nominated for the 2021 SD Music Awards. A winning combination of
soulful finger picking and strumming fun, highlight her Contemporary Folk/Pop
style. Amanda's voice has an emotional quality that draws people in and keeps their
attention, whether she’s singing a heartfelt original or popular cover song. You also
might recognize her as the one serving you drinks from behind the boat club bar on
various Friday nights.

With a natural ear for music and knack for picking up instruments, Rhea is a riot of a
minstrel with sparkling stage presence and a yen for old school R&B. She transports
her listeners back to a golden age of music, when all a performer needed to entertain
was a guitar and an exceptional voice.

Convair Waterski Club skis on Thursday 6/24/21. Yes, it’s windy, mostly rough water and the jet ski
Armada was there but a couple troopers skied their butts off and had a great time. Brooke Reams
finished her Bay hours with an excellent performance too!! And look at that imitation wooden Radar

Congrats! Nikki and West Coast FC Soccer Team!
Nikki Penaflor and the West Coast FC girls 04 soccer team won the West
Region Developmental Players League regular season championship. The
DPL league as it’s know as, was a 20 game season conducted during a global
pandemic, and included miles of road trips to Arizona, Nevada,
Orange County and LA. Congrats Nikki!!!

The First Blind Ski is July 24, 2021! The last one was September 2018.
We have really missed this group! Time to Welcome them back!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Driver • Blind ski trailer to beach & back
Boats &driver • With boom for beginning water skiers
• for boat & tube rides
• for long line water skiers
On the beach • Set out chairs & ski equipment
• To register participants
• Assisting participants with equipment, coffee, hot chocolate,
Donuts & water
• Signup sheets for water skiing, tube & boat rides
On the water • Observers & water ski instructors
At the Club • Prepare & serve food to participants & volunteers
• Clean & store ski equipment
I will be presenting the Burgee Plaque to the Westwood Family in honor of John Westwood’s 20 +
years of volunteering to the Blind Ski Program (plaque designed by Commodore Steele Young).

The following people delivered the Blind Ski Boat Club Burgee honoring the late Dr. John Westwood
to is wife Mrs. Darice Westwood on June 3, 2021. The Blind Ski attendees representing The Mission
Bay Boat and Ski Club were: Ron and Diane George (Ron is Blind Ski Director), Marty Stroiman
and Glenn Gentile (Convair Water Ski Club). Photos by Glenn.
A plaque was presented by the club made by Commodore Steele Young.
We have missed the Blind Ski Group and as so excited to start again this summer on July 14, 2021.
