MY AFTERNOON TEA
HELPED ME REGAIN
MY SPARKLE
‘Last summer I decided to have an Afternoon
Tea to help others affected by breast
cancer. I didn’t know it then but hosting the
event and looking after people on the day
                            helped me regain my sparkle.
Back in July 2019, I was diagnosed with
breast cancer and had subsequent surgery,
                            chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Breast
Cancer Now has been a huge help to me, and
continues to be, after my diagnosis.
I held my tea in the garden, it was a lovely sunny day spent with
family and friends.
Everyone has been so supportive and overwhelmingly generous in
helping me raise funds for a charity which has helped me.’

IT WAS AMAZING TO
SUPPORT A CAUSE SO
CLOSE TO MY HEART
‘Last summer I hosted a virtual Afternoon
Tea so we could all still get together
and support people affected by breast
cancer. It’s important to me because my
                      grandmother was diagnosed with
                      breast cancer.

Before the event, I set up a JustGiving page
so everyone could donate from the comfort
                      of their own home.

We all had an amazing time! I spoke about what our fundraising
was achieving, we had a show and tell of all our baked goods and
then shared recipes so we could all try each other’s bakes.

Everyone enjoyed it and it was amazing to support a cause so close
to my heart.’
