Orford Express
Train
Live a sensorial experience abord the Orford
Express. Savour an exquisite meal while
travelling through the Eastern Township’s
best landscapes between Sherbrooke,
Magog, Eastman and Bromont. Operating
from May to December, the train can
welcome up to 212 passengers per outing in
its three different cars divided into 5 private
dining rooms. One has a glass dome offering
an exceptional panoramic view. Throughout
December, the Orford Express becomes
a Christmas train, offering you one of the
most original experiences possible. While
travelling through the winter landscapes, the
train becomes even more comfortable and
warm.

the show Québec Isssime sings Starmania
brings together on the stage 7 singers and 12

murales» Tour

revealing secrets of the large murals and
colourful stories that inspired M.U.R.I.R.S’s
mural artists. Born at the start of the 1800s,
the colourful Mary O’Malley tells the stories
of the major and minor moments in the life of
Sherbrooke residents throughout different
periods.
Her funny story is filled with tasty and
unusual anecdotes. Depending on how
much time you have, you can admire four,
six or why not 12 of the magnificent murals
decorating the walls of old Sherbrooke with

Located in the former head office of the
Eastern Township Bank, a 19th century
building. It highlights the original safe by
presenting artifacts.
The Museum has three exhibit halls; two
are reserved for temporary exhibits, one
for the permanent exhibit Espaces et
Paysages, which promotes its rich collection,
specifically a space reserved for the painter
Frederick S. Coburn (1871-1960).
Annually the Museum presents 8 exhibits
that will help you discover artists from the
region and abroad.

objects from Sherbrooke’s natural heritage

Alter Anima exhibit.
The VIP visit offers a different was to see the
exhibits presented at the Museum. A visit that

1862, the Uplands Heritage and Cultural
Centre offers a look on the history and

The Saint-Michel Cathedral Basilica is
the seat of the Sherbrooke archdiocese,
which covers the diocese of Sherbrooke,
Nicolet and Saint-Hyacinthe. It was built on
the heights of the Saint-Michel cliff, a few
steps from downtown. Perched on a sort
of acropolis, it dominates the city and the
surrounding area with its massive, robust
silhouette which has more aerial lines of
the archiepiscopal palace, with the look of
a fortified castle. The archbishopric and
the cathedral today form a whole, with
impressive masonry which reveals the
evolution of the mind of the main architect of
this work, Louis-Napoléon Audet.

Since 1912, the Benedictine monks have
lived in this monastery built on the west
side of Lake Memphrémagog. A Eucharist
in Gregorian chant is celebrated each
day, and the Lauds (7:30am) and Vespers
(5pm) are also sung in Gregorian. Certain
portions of these public prayers use French.
The monastery’s guest quarters host
men who would like to rest in a feeling of
contemplation and peace. Women can be
hosted in a neighbouring home run by nuns.
You can admire the unique architecture of
the building, look at the permanent exhibit
about monastic life (laminated panels)
and visit the boutique where you can buy
products such as cheese, apple cider, books,
music or religious chant CDs and pious

Slate Interpretation
Centre
The Slate Interpretation Centre is housed in
an 1889 churched with a roof and clock tower
shingled with slate. It offers many activities
to discover the Pays de l’Ardoise and to
participate in its cultural dynamism.
The Pays de l’Ardoise, a unique territory of
about 200 km2, is the only location in Quebec
and Canada to have known a great rush since
the 1850s up to the First World War. There
is exceptional slate heritage found on this

Maison Merry
The Merry House is a citizen site of memory
that present Magog’s history and that of
the region from the time of the Aboriginal
peoples and the American settlers, up to
today. Discover the oldest house in urban

The overall appearance of the Merry House,

recreational products, including the famous
Ski-Doo snowmobiles! The guided tour of
the factory, located close to the museum,

Marseille soap and cosmetics/Boutique with

In our workshops we produce soaps, facial
and body care products with precious oils
(primrose, avocado, jojoba, argan) and pure
essential oils (fine lavender, mint, bergamot,
rosemary). You can make your own soap on
site with the Soap Bar, or at home with our
home soap making kits. We also process
our own buckthorn berries into mustards,
onion confit, jellies, sherbet, etc…Tasting bar
for infused olive oils and Modena balsamic
vinegar. Waffle meals and Belgian waffles at
noon in our bistro, lactose-free gelatos and
sherbets with pure fruit.
