Our History
1948
On February 2, 1948 Leland Stratton was asked by a good customer, Nelson
Rogers, to form a partnership and purchase Albert Steel’s seed business located
at 320 North Main in Stuttgart, AR. The plant consisted of one small seed cleaner
in an old wooden rice mill.
1989
In 1989, Stratton Seed purchased the seed
operation of Winrock Farms in Carlisle, AR and
added additional processing and 400,000 bushel
bulk storage. Additional warehouse space has
been added since the purchase.

The Virtue™ soybean products have been developed by GDM Seeds Inc. and its affiliates through decades of elite soybean breeding, with the sole intent to create elite Soybean germplasm and produce high-yielding. Bringing about these seed products has taken – and will
continue to take – time, effort and investment to GDM and its suppliers. Such products are covered by intellectual property, including trademarks, pending plant variety certificates, confidential information, trade secrets, and pending patents (check lip of bag or attached
tag for status of IP protection).
The purchase of these seeds includes a limited license to produce a single soybean crop in the United States (or other applicable country). This license does not extend to the use of seed of such crop or the progeny thereof for propagation or seed multiplication.
