Arrival by airplane / car
The closest airport to Villasimius is the Cagliari Elmas Airport (approx. one hour
away). The Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is the second international airport on the
island, however it is located in the north and approx. three hours away by car.

The Marina and Race Offices are located in the main buildings of the marina
and the Media Office will be located in the building of the Lega Navale Sez.

GC32 RT 2021 159. TECHNICAL AREA AT MARINA
Craning at Marina di Villasimius
Craning is provided by the Organising Authority during the official craning
schedules (see ENoR). For additional craning outside the official event craning
schedules the crane can be booked for a fee of €150 per movement (to be
done consecutively) through Andi Drack +43 676 590 38 59 or Christian
Scherrer +41 79 421 62 17. Before 9th of September your contacts for craning
are Mirco Babini +39 335 701 59 59 and Amedeo Ferrrigno +39 070 797 006.
Any craning after Tuesday 14th September 18:00 is not permitted without
permission of the OA (see ENoR 14).
The craning out sequence of the boats after the last race on Sunday will be
communicated by the Organising Authority. The OA will provide a craning list
accordingly. Craning will start straight after the last regatta. There will be no
craning during the period of the prize giving.

Parking at Marina di Villasimius
Parking is available at the Marina di Villasimius. Two cards access key cards
will be handed out per team at the Marina di Villasimius reception desk.
Berthing at Marina di Villasimius
The Organising Authority will provide an assigned berth for each boat at
Marina di Villasimius.
Support boats / training before regatta
Please read the special instructions in the Notice of Race (NoR) point 6. and
the Event Notice of Race (ENoR), point 13. Support Boats, applying to all
support boats in Villasimius.
If you are training before the start of the event check in with Mirco Babini for
a dedicated briefing and instructions. Please be aware that the Marina di
Villasimius is located inside a protected marine area (Area Marina Protteta

GC32 RT 2021 1811. COVID REGULATIONS AND PROTOCOL
General situation in Italy and Sardinia
The difficult health situation caused by Covid-19 persists worldwide and
throughout Italy. Despite the general improvement of the situation especially
in Europe since this spring, there are still many restrictions and regulations on
travelling and the organisation of events. Working with local organisers, the
GC32 Class will take all possible precautions, and adhere to all local
restrictions, to minimise the chances of spreading the virus.
General information about the situation in Italy and the utilisation of the
green pass can be found under the following link on the website of the

In Italy, regions are classified in four areas (red, orange, yellow and white)
corresponding to three risk scenarios, for which specific restrictive measures
are foreseen. On the date of the publication all regions are classified as white

GC32 RT 2021 1911. COVID REGULATIONS AND PROTOCOL
Regulation for sailing events by the Italian Sailing Federation
In addition to the Italian national and regional regulations, the GC32 World
Championship in Villasimius will be conducted under the regulations and
recommendation of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and their protocol
which will follow later this month.

Opening of the event
The event will be opened on Wednesday 15th September after the practice
races at 18.30 in the GC32 Lounge on the piazza of the Marina di Villasimius.
Follow the racing: 2D Tracking and Race Commentary
During the official regatta days the racing can be followed live on the GC32
Racing Tour website by 2D Tracking provided by TracTrac as well as live
commentary.

Additionally to the notices posted on the Official Notice Board (ONB) on the

Lunch and lunch packs can be booked / ordered directly with the restaurant
Acqua e Sale at the Marina di Villasimius. Please make your bookings and
arrangements with enough time in advance. The restaurant offer a 15%

GC32 RT 2021 2212. FURTHER TEAM INFORMATION
Official Regatta Dinner
We are planning to organise an official regatta dinner on Saturday 18th of
September. Depending on the pandemic situation the OA reserves the option
to not organise the dinner.
Prize Giving
On Sunday 19th of September after racing at 17:00 the prize giving will be held
on the piazza of the Marina di Villasimius. All teams are required to
participate with the full crew at the prize giving. The craning will be stopped
15 minutes before the prize giving and restarted after the end of the
ceremony.

GC32 Lounge
The GC32 Lounge will be located in the Piazza of the Marina di
Villasimius and will serve Morning Coffee at the Skippers Briefing and
Happy Hour Drinks after racing. To access the GC32 Lounge you will
need to show the event bracelet. Eight bracelets per team are included
in your entry. For additional members to the team, bracelets can be
purchased for the price of €80 for the duration of the event.
Everybody accessing the GC32 Lounge will have to register with the OA
at the Race Office and provide their personal data and a negative covid
test or valid vaccination certificate prior to entering.

Like in the past years in Italy we’ll be working again together with our Italian
event partner YEG – Your Event Group (ex Ventana) for our hospitality program

GC32 On Board Guest Hospitality
We will continue to run our On Board Guest Hospitality program for guests and
sponsors also for the GC32 World Championship in Villasimius if the prevailing
conditions are suitable. Numbers of spots will be shared between the teams
(50%) and GC32 Class (50%). Stephanie Nadin from the GC32 Class will oversee
the program. Stephanie will contact you before the event with more
information and to check also on your requirements.

GC32 RT 2021 2714. PRESS INFORMATION
Event Photography
Sailing Energy will be the 2021 GC32 World Championship photographers
and will be in Villasimius from the 15th September onwards. Photos will be
available on a photoshelter account for press and teams. Photos are rights
free for editorial usage but must be credited: ‘©Sailing Energy/ GC32 World
Championship Villasimius 2021‘.
Event Video Production
Icarus Sports is in charge of the video production and distribution for the
event. VNR’s, daily highlights, short social features and a wrap up video will
be produced and distributed.
Opening / Meeting the teams
The event will be opened on Wednesday 15th of September after the practice

Villasimius. This event is open to the accredited press.
