Even more excitement in the library with a welcome return of The Animal Lady. This always
goes down well and was again booked out. Here are some of the photographs and below
quotes from mums who took the children along.
“Both of my children thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Not only did they get to hold/stroke
the animals they were given lots of information about each of the animals. Will definitely come
again”
“Really enjoyed the morning – well organised and lots of fun”
“Fantastic experience for the kids and adults alike. Lots of variety and amazing to see/stroke
different animals and reptiles. Lovely Goody Bags for the kids and coffee and cake for mums.
Thank you! – always a fab experience at he library”
“This is one of the best experiences we have attended. Freddie loved it and was so excited
and interested to find out all about the animals and get to hold them. The idea of coffee and
home-made cakes afterwards for the adults was such a lovely touch. Thank everyone so
much”
“Brilliant!!! – my three children really enjoyed it. The lady was patient and told us some great
facts. Will book in for next time”

Moorside Fundraising
Year 10 students at Moorside High School (picrtured) recently planned and carried out
campaigns to raise awareness of issues close to their hearts and to raise money for the
Library and Police Hub. One group of students wanted to tackle the issue of lonely elderly
people in the Werrington area and so rasied money by holding a ‘Guess the Name of the
Teddy’ competition within the school.
The students raised over £40 to donate to the Werrington Community Library and Wellbeing
Centre who have plans to use the money raised in local initiatives to help support those who
may experience lonliness and isolation in Werrington. Another group of students, Lelya Laksai
and Samuel Wood, raised over £40 by making and selling scones to the staff at Moorisde.
This groups aim was to help tackle the issue of Anti-social Behaviour in Werrington and the
money these students raised will be used to help combat Anti-social Behaviour.
It has been a pleasure working with these students, they are wonderful young people. I was
overwhelmed to receive a cheque for £83.13p.
Thank you all so much for all your hard work, not
forgetting Citizenship teacher Ms. Lewis.

Hi All, I would like to introduce you to our brilliant Library Volunteers who work on a weekly

us just contact the library on 01782 302706 or me on 01782 304890. Thank you! Jean
