ABOUT THE
PROJECT
The Villinki Apartments project in Karlova
Ves is named after an island in southern
Finland. It is a nice place surrounded by
nature – just like the Villinki Apartments
near the Líščie údolie valley.

One of the project‘s benefits is its location.
The compound is close not only to the
Bratislava city centre, but also to Vienna,
the capital of neighbouring Austria.

The Villinki Apartments comprise four
low-rise residential buildings with a total of
64 mostly southwest-facing apartments.

The residential buildings are energy efficient
and arranged in a checkerboard pattern,
which offers the residents an exquisite
view over the horizon towards Austria and
plenty of privacy at the same time.

As far as the energy demand is concerned,
the project solution of the Villinki apartment
houses complies with Energy Efficiency
Class B. The total energy consumption for
the residential part of the houses shall be
less than 80kWh/m2/year.

The Villinki Apartments project is a result of joint work of a team of experien-

                                     ced architects who emphasised both functional and stylish solutions when
                                     designing the apartments. Peter Moravčík, the Villinki Apartments project‘s
                                     chief architect, talks about his attractive spatial solutions:

                                             The buildings are mostly southwest-facing. They are nestled
                                             into the sloping terrain in a checkerboard pattern to create
                                             interesting vistas. In addition to the view over the valley of
                                             Karlova Ves, the layout also provides essential privacy to the
                                             residents.” What is another added value of the project in the
                                             author‘s opinion? “It is definitely the biocorridor. It is an area

                                     The residential complex of four low-rise buildings comprises a total of 64
