Equipment Budget Adjustment Request deadline: Dec. 7, 2020
Due date to move funds out of Pending Distribution: Feb. 2, 2021
Equipment purchases deadline: January 30, 2021IV E) SAFE SCHOOL PLAN The last two years, our community experienced unprecedented catastrophic events that affected our attendance. In 2018-19, teachers went on strike which resulted in 12 days of lost instruction and only 35% of our students were proficient in attendance while 15.8% were chronically absent. In the 2019-20 school year, school ended on March 13 because of the coronavirus pandemic. 100% of our students were considered chronically absent. In order to continue to improve our attendance, we set a new goal, based on the 2107-18 data, decrease the percentage of chronically absent students (FBB and BB) from 4.6% to 4%. Further, we would like to increase the percentage of students with 96% or higher attendance from 77.6% to 80%. Last year's goal: To continue to teach students social-emotional skills through District- or state-adopted materials. In addition, implement Restorative Justice practices and incorporate a school-wide Anti-Bullying Campaign. We received training from the district on how to implement the Stanford Harmony Curriculum on social emotional skills. Each teacher received a Stanford Harmony Kit.
ATTENDANCE AND DISCIPLINE GOAL Our 2020-21 Goal: Decrease the percentage of chronically absent students (FBB and BB) from 4.6% to 4%. Further, we would like to increase the percentage of students with 96% or higher attendance from 77.6% to 80%. Our 2020-21 Goal: Teachers will use resources from on the Positive Behavior Intervention Support and Restorative Practices Schoology group to teach social emotional skills and check in with students to support their social-emotional growth. Teachers will use the Stanford Harmony online resources to teach students social-emotional skills. In addition, implement Restorative Justice practices and incorporate a school-wide Anti-Bullying Campaign. We will monitor student participate and engagement by using the Whole Child Data Website. We will look at Schoology and Zoom tracking to determine who is not signing in. In addition, we will use Whole Child Data to identify the chronically absent students. We will discuss with our leadership team and local school leadership council how we can best intervene with these students. We may need to involve a PSA to assist as needed.
IV F) ELAC RECOMMENDATIONS TO SSC • Given that DIBELS 8 (19-20 BOY-MOY) data show growth for ELs, ELAC members recommend that teachers continue to monitor ELs data and communicate with EL parents to explain the criteria for reclassification and student’s areas of need. • ELAC members would like to recommend to the SSC to brainstorm ideas to improve in our Parent, Community, & Student Engagement goal as measured via the School Experience Survey. Some of the ideas ELAC members have include the following: providing parent workshops, inviting counselors/psychologist to speak to students in class, and share messages about kindness. • ELAC members would like to recommend to use available Title I funds to provide Intervention classes specifically to address students who are struggling with reading, including English Learners. More specifically, they recommend funds to be used to buy teacher tutoring x- time, additional TAs, and vetted intervention curriculum to address students’ needs.
