A WORD FROM THE MAYOR
Fellow citizens,
Construction is finally under way for Main Road in the village! Prior to the elections of 2017, I heard from
many of you that the conditions of the villages sidewalks and roads simply weren’t acceptable. I promised to
you that, as your mayor, I would fix this longstanding problem. From the planning stages to execution, we
listened and worked with citizens to make this a reality! The vision of making a more pedestrian friendly one
is now being built.
Council planned during the winter and spring months to provide citizens the summer services they want and
deserve. The pool is open and the day camp has returned to Hudson. COVID is still with us but we’ve adapted
to the challenges presented by the pandemic. Hudsonites got priority parking passes in the mail and will have
priority access to our waterfront spots for beautiful summer days in Hudson.
Have a great summer!

MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR SEPTIC SYSTEMS
The town of Hudson wishes to start a program to manage the septic systems present on its territory. In addition to issuing the permits, the town
must ensure that the septic systems comply with the Regulation respecting wastewater disposal systems for isolated dwellings (Q-2, r.22) by carrying
out, among other things, the monitoring of operating conditions, by setting up appropriate monitoring tools as well as within the framework of
a municipal by-law. The town of Hudson therefore wishes to document the information on septic systems and have them upgraded if required.
The town also plans, through its management plan, to setup a municipal tank emptying program. The main objective of the town is to inform the
citizens concerned and, as such, a letter will be sent to them by summer 2021 giving more details on this program. Also, a public meeting will be
organized to present this management plan. Finally, be aware that the town of Hudson wishes to promote the voluntary correction of non-compliant
septic systems and will make arrangements to assist in financing through a loan by-law (the precise arrangements will be presented to you).
In conclusion, the town of Hudson wishes to get involved in improving the quality of the water on its territory and thanks you in advance for your
co-operation.

round, you must have it emptied at least once every two years
and provide proof to the Urban Planning department that you

CANINE COURTESY:
GOOD PRACTICES TO ADOPT
Since the entry into force of the Provincial Regulation respecting
the application of the Act to promote the protection of persons by
establishing a framework regarding dogs in March 2020, dogs must be
always kept on a leash in public places, with the exception of the dog
park located at Thompson Park 726 Main.
The town of Hudson modified its tree by-law. The main modification
of this by-law is the introduction of a minimum density of trees based With the arrival of spring, the Town of Hudson would like to remind dog

will not be required to meet the minimum threshold, only to replace
each felled tree. This requirement does not apply to agricultural areas
and the felling of ash trees. A deposit of $ 200 per tree to be replaced
must be paid to the town.

planet.

Please note that all items picked up during the bulky item collection
are sent directly to the landfill. In order to divert these materials
from landfills and give them a second life, you can dispose them at
the ecocenter or contact non-profit organizations which can take
your objects in good condition as well as certain defective appliances.
Some organizations even offer to collect these materials at your home!
Visit the town’s website for the list of organizations in the area.
