REPORT CARDS

                                 Due to the school building being closed this past week, report cards
                                 will now be placed in the mail by Tuesday, January 12th. Grades are
                                 also available online via PowerSchool Portal. Both you and your
                                 student will have access to this information through the
                                 PowerSchool Portal. To create a new PowerSchool Parent Portal
                                 account, you will need to visit our front o ce and show your photo
                                 ID to receive your Access ID and Password. Directions for accessing
                                 PowerSchool Portal can be found by clicking HERE.

                                 If you have questions about the PowerSchool Portal, please contact
                                 the school.

                       IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES

Friday, January 8th: The schedule change request GoogleForm will be closing today, Friday, January
8th at 3:00pm.

Friday, January 8th: Senior Flex application closes at 3:00pm today, Friday, January 8th. Link in
Counseling Dept. section below.

Monday, January 18th: Last day to purchase senior recognition ads. See information below.

February 2nd & 3rd: Underclassman picture retakes and makeups (rescheduled from Jan 5th & 6th).

                          2ND SEMESTER REMINDERS

    UCPS school buildings and o ces re-open Monday, January 11th.

    Students on Plan B will resume their normal schedule attending 2 days per week with Fridays
    continuing to be remote learning days for all students.

    Per UCPS guidelines, all Plan B students are expected to attend classes in person on their
    assigned days. If a student on Plan B is not in school on their assigned days, they will be marked
    absent. If a Plan B student is unable to attend class in person on their assigned day due to Covid
    related reasons, parents are asked to please contact the school nurse or Attendance O cer via
    email or by calling the school. Our school nurse, Mrs. Mastin can be reached at
    susan.mastin@ucps.k12.nc.us and our Attendance O cer, Mrs. Glenna Bowen, can be reached
    at glenna.bowen@ucps.k12.nc.us. If you have any additional questions pertaining to absences
    or would like additional clari cation, Mrs. Bowen will be happy to assist you.

    Weddington High School will continue to monitor health and safety protocols. As a reminder, it is
    very important that students continue to practice the three W’s--wait six feet apart, wash your
    hands often and wear a face covering. We appreciate your support in encouraging your student
    to follow all school health and safety protocols.

                UNDERCLASSMAN PICTURE MAKE-UPS

Any freshman, sophomore, or junior who did not get their picture taken in October will need to get their

picture taken on Tuesday, February 2nd and underclassmen with last
names L-Z will get their picture taken on Wednesday, February 3rd.
This picture will go in the yearbook. If you would like to purchase
pictures, please go to www.carolinaphoto.net to prepay. Money can also
be turned in on picture day. Order forms are available in the front o ce.

 SENIOR RECOGNITION ADS RE-OPENED FOR PURCHASE

Senior Recognition Ads have been reopened for any senior parent who would still like to purchase one.
The last day to purchase is Monday, January 18th. Go to Jostens.com to begin designing a special
message for your senior. Refer to the document attached below for assistance creating your senior
ad.

                           YEARBOOK INFORMATION

Purchase a Yearbook

Yearbooks are still on sale at jostens.com. The cost for a yearbook is
$85. This price is good through January 29th. After January 29th, the
price will increase. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Waldrup
at anna.waldrup@ucps.k12.nc.us.

                           COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Semester Two Schedule Change
The semester two schedule change GoogleForm will opened on January 4th at 8:00am and will close
this afternoon, Friday, January 8th at 3:00pm. Only students using their UCPS email address will be
able to access and complete the form to request a schedule change. Please note, schedule change
requests will not be accepted after January 8th.

Senior Flex Application
The senior ex application closes at 3:00pm today, Friday, January 8th.

Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Conferences
Sophomore and Junior conferences will begin Tuesday, January 19th and run through the end of
March. Students, please email your counselor to schedule an appointment to discuss 2021-2022
course selections, college and career readiness, and much more!

For all sports not in season, there will be a dead period from Monday 1/11 – Wednesday 1/13.

Happy New Year and welcome to the second semester!!!
With your membership and donations to date we have been able to:
provide 2 staff luncheons, Refreshments for 3 staff meetings, 4 staff
breakfasts, Thanksgiving pies for all WHS staff including our bus drivers,
a staff Mini-Grant, 4 Senior Events, and nearly 100 Angels turned back in
representing donations from our Angel tree.

We hope you were able to rest well, and take a much needed break, Warriors. Your PTSO is thrilled to
partner with you to bring cheer to our school body. We will be looking forward to a great second
semester!
