Cambridge Big Data Initiative

• The Cambridge Big Data Strategic Research Initiative brings together
researchers from across the University to address challenges presented by our
access to unprecedented volumes AND VARIETY of data.

• Research, Training and Network activities span all six Schools and over 50
Departments of the University from the underlying fundamentals in mathematics
and computer science, to applications ranging from astronomy and
bioinformatics, to medicine, social science and the humanities

• Five cross-cutting Themes: 1) Data Management and Processing; 2) Ethics,
Law and Policy; 3) Imaging; 4) Making Big Data Work; 5) Theoretical
  Foundations.

• Cambridge Big Data supports collaboration with industries to promote
knowledge transfer in this growing field.
