Incognito Appliances for teens and adults use the latest technology to straighten teeth,

Orthodontists like the Incognito System because it is a complete solution, not just a set of
brackets and wires. The power of Incognito Appliances is in the customisation. Each
bracket and wire is designed to deliver a specific treatment result and to overcome
limitations of the dental anatomy. Incognito Appliances are made using state of the art
CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer–aided manufacturing) and robotic technology.
The process starts with a high-definition impression and set-up instructions provided by the
orthodontist. Many people are apprehensive about the impression process. However,
today’s fast set impression materials need only to be in the mouth one to two minutes vs.
five to seven minutes of older materials.

Scans of the impressions are uploaded into a software system where, highly skilled lab
technicians build a set-up and design the custom brackets and wires to meet individual
specifications.
The brackets are delivered to the doctor in an indirect bonding tray for ease of placement.
This allows for the placement of the brackets as a unit, as compared with traditional braces
which are placed on one at a time.
A sequence of precise, robotically-bent arch wires,
designed to move the teeth into the ideal finished result,
are fabricated and sent with the brackets.
These advances minimize the amount of time a doctor has to spend making adjustments to
the braces and often reduce the amount of time it takes to finish treatment.
Although the Incognito System represents a novel orthodontic technology, the idea of
behind-the-teeth braces has been with orthodontists
for some time.
Many dentists tried lingual braces but found them
difficult to use. There was no clinical data on how to
accomplish specific treatment objectives using lingual

Questions that you should ask before having treatment
While the treatments above can be used with virtually any treatment philosophy, specific
training is needed. All orthodontists and dentists interested in treating patients with these
services must attend training before cases will be accepted from their premises.

The Top 6 Questions Everyone asks About Orthodontics
1. How much will treatment cost?
We know price is an important consideration for
you. There is no way to accurately answer this
question without first coming in for a consultation.
At that initial meeting the dentist will examine you
and take xrays etc. From this he will be able to give
you an accurate figure of cost.
There are many factors that determine the cost of
your Orthodontic treatment: including the
complexity of your problem and to what level you
would like these problems corrected. Certain
treatments have laboratory expenses which also
need to be considered.
All patients are given a written estimate and can use our in-house payment plan which is
interest-free. Fees include all necessary impressions, records, radiographs, appliances,
professional time and retainers provided at the end o0f treatment. We also include 12
months after care to monitor how well your retention is going after your active treatment
has finished.
2. How can you prepare for treatment?
We would carry out an extensive oral health assessment ensuring that you are dental ready
for any treatment. We would need to make sure all teeth are disease free and the gums
healthy. This will provide optimum conditions for the best result.

4. How long will the process take?
Each individual case varies. This can range from 6-24 months dependent on each individuals
concerns and problem.
5. What are the downsides/side effects of treatment?
There are very few downsides to these systems. With Incognito the orthodontics are fixed
so you need to ensure that you clean adequately each day, we can provide help and advice
on how to do this. Speech can be affceted, howeevr speech excercises can be used to help
alleviate this problem.
6. Will it hurt?
There could be some discomfort during the initial stages of tooth movement. The way
orthodontics works is to introduce constant but steady pressure on your teeth. This results
in you only feeling light pressure on the teeth. You would not experience any pain, just
some mild discomfort at first, which means the teeth are moving.
