Where GoodSam is, Good Things Happen
A Word from your Director:
Well August has proved to be another trying month! With record
high or close to it temperatures, we made the decision to protect
the health and welfare of our members by postponing the Annual
business meeting and the Pow Wow until the end of September. With
that being said, after our State Committee meeting this week the
decision was made to cancel the Annual state meeting and the Pow
Wow since the Delta variant of Covid-19 has accelerated. We are
all social people and it’s difficult to not social distance when we
haven’t seen each other for such a long. Hoping next year will be
better. THANK YOU to all that worked so hard in planning these
events and to you for attempting to attend! The Pow Wow committee
will be issuing refunds within the next couple of weeks and Joyce
Burt will be issuing refunds for those that registered for the
State meeting.
Once again it appears that my email and phone number have been
hacked, and whoever is doing this is asking for gift cards; please
do not open any emails or respond to them. I will never ask to have
gift cards sent to me. Sorry this is happening…
I am sad to announce that Connie Morrill has stepped down from her
Assistant Director position. THANK YOU Connie and Howard for all
that you have done for Oregon Good Sam and the WyEast region. You
will be greatly missed.
Attention all OGS members and chapters, it is time to send in your
state dues and current rosters. All information is due by November
30, 2021. Thank you for getting them sent it as soon as possible.

Memorials
Mike Nolan passed away August 11, 2021 in Dalles, Oregon. He was
Was born June 26, 1950 in Oakland, CA. He and his wife Barbara were members of Polk About
Sams since April 2012.
Mike served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1999 until 2012, during which time he earned
many prestigious awards. He also was a member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis, VFW and Keizer
Elks.
He is also survived by his sons David and Darren and daughter Anna,
along with his two beloved dogs, Max and Krispie.
A Mass was held at St Phillips Catholic Church on August 21st, 2021.
He will be missed by many . Barbara and his family would like to thank
you for your prayers.
Ed Teall passed away August 24, 2021, was born
April 22, 1936, survived by his wife Doreen.
Our good friend Ed Teall and his wife Doreen are members of our
Blue Mt. Good Sam chapter. We were so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing
recently. We were so looking forward to being able to go to campout
with them again soon. Ed was a great guy and very pleasant to be
around. Our thoughts and prayers are with Doreen and Ed’s family
and friends. So sorry for your loss, and ours.
Thomas Rogers passed away June 20, 2021 - Roseburg Sams (no other information)
