 Why Choose University College Cork?
Academics
Quinnipiac and University College Cork work together to provide our students with:
wide ranging academic study, high quality and innovative learning, social and
personal development, and the extraordinary opportunity to live and learn outside
the classroom! Quinnipiac students must take 12-16 credits at UCC to be considered
full time so that their financial aid will transfer.

Students who need BIO211 Lecture and Lab will be required to take this course
online (Asynchronous) with QU while studying at UCC to stay on track and fulfill
their QU course requirements.

Students will potentially fill QU course requirements with courses that fall under:
social and natural sciences, humanities, fine arts, major and minor requirements
and breadth electives while attending UCC. This will depend on course availability at
UCC. Flexibility is extremely important when studying abroad. The goal is for
students to stay on track and graduate QU on time. It is crucial that students plan
with their academic advisors the flexibility for participating in a study abroad
experience. UCC in the world university rankings

University College Cork is located in Cork City, Ireland. This is found in the
southeastern area of Ireland. It was voted ‘best place to live in the world’ due to
security, freedom, family, community life, political stability, gender equality, income,
health (The Economist 2005). It was also voted “World’s 5th best country for a long,

including nearly 2,400 international students who attend UCC for a semester or
year. The University College Cork has a main campus containing the majority of

Safety and Security
Student’s safety is of our utmost concern. QU requires appropriate sickness,
accident, medical, and security evacuation insurance as a condition of participating
in any study abroad program. Therefore, all students participating in UCC’s abroad
program are required to purchase QU’s Study Abroad Accident and Sickness
Insurance Plan, including Medical and Security Assistance (contracted through third
parties) Please feel free to review the policy. Students will receive an onsite
emergency protocol at pre-departure. Please refer to the U.S department of state for
current travel conditions in Ireland. How Safe is Cork. We recognize Covid is still a
concern and will continue to follow the CDC and state dept guidelines/requirements
for travel to Ireland. Please note the US Embassy in Ireland information for travel to
Ireland. Ireland's COVID-19 Data Hub

COVID
We will continue to monitor and evaluate COVID in Ireland as well as travel restrictions
and protocol requirements overseas. We encourage you to apply to this program, but
please note that at any time if deemed unsafe by QU, the host partner, government or
other official entities the program may be suspended, and students will be informed
immediately.

As we get closer to departure, all students will be required to enroll in QU’s
comprehensive medical and security overseas insurance through our partner Cultural
Insurance Services International(CISI) This is a suggested site from CISI to better
understand travel restrictions/protocol and COVID cases abroad. Please discuss with your
