ABOUT US

                           Our mission is to inspire creativity.
                           Founded in 1974 in a converted naval munitions plant, Torpedo Factory
                           Art Center is home to the nation’s largest number of publicly accessible
                           working artist studios under one roof. Each year, more than a half-million
                           national and international visitors pass through the doors to meet artists,
                           participate in creative events, and appreciate art exhibitions.

                           With more than 165 resident artists in 82 studios on three floors, there
                           is always something new to see and experience. Observe artists at work,
                           ask about their creative processes, learn what inspires them, and discover
                           what inspires you! Shop and bring home original art for your collection.

2019 POST-GRAD RESIDENCY
This competitive juried residency supports artists who recently earned a graduate or
undergraduate degree in Fine Art. Residents have space to define their practices outside of
an academic context. They learn to create and sell work, interact with the public, and build a
network of artists and patrons.
