for health workers, which incorporate new discoveries, evolving knowledge

The Medical School offers the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree programme. The course
is accredited by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council and the East African Community National
Medical and Dental Practitioners Boards and Councils.
The training programmes are supported by state- of-the-art science laboratories and a modern anatomy
laboratory at the Thika Level 5 Hospital. MKU also experience.

Bachelor of Medicine and KCSE mean grade of C+ or its equivalent, 6 years
Bachelor of Surgery and B in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or KSh. 170,000 per trimester

For diploma holders in Medical Sciences,

DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL LABORATORY
The department offers diploma, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate programmes in Medical Laboratory
Sciences, which deal with diagnostics and medical research. You will learn about important aspects and
functioning of the human body such as immunology; haematology and blood transfusion; microbiology;
urology; molecular biology; histology and cytology; parasitology and entomology; and clinical chemistry.
The medical laboratory programmes are approved by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and
Technologists’ Board (KMLTTB), which also registers practitioners in the field.
