110th MOORA SHOW 18 September 2021 www.moorashow.com.au - Central Midlands Agricultural Society ...
Welcome to the 110th Annual Moora Show.

With 2020 throwing many challenges to our community and state our
Chairman Marc Jones and his band of committee, judges, stewards, and
volunteers had to work closely with the Shire of Moora and WA Health to
ensure that all care and responsibility was taken to address the regulations as
                        set. An enormous task indeed.

With the close work with Shire staff, we were indeed able to provide a safe
and successful Moora Show with the 2021 Australia Day Award for the
community event of the year being presented to our volunteers. This was a
whole of community achievement as without their attendance on the day it
would not have been a success.

Due to the ongoing support of local businesses, individuals, and families we
have again been able to source significant donations and sponsorship for
entertainment, classes, printing of our show book and entire sections.

The 2021 Moora Show is focusing on family, community and Agriculture and a
number of activities are being planned to encourage participation throughout
the day. As with every community event many hands make light work so if
you have a few hours where you can assist in any way in the lead-up to show
day or on the day please make yourself known or call me to discuss where
                                you can assist.

                     2021 President, Megan Brassington

185g Butter
½ cup icing sugar
½ cup custard powder
Pinch salt
1 ½ cups S.R. flour
Few drops lemon essence

METHOD
Mix all well together.
Then roll into small balls the size of an walnut, approximately.
Place on a greased tray, press down with the back of fork.
Place in fridge for a short time- approximately while each batch
is baking.
Bake till a very pale, golden brown in a moderate oven.
Approximately 15 minutes, depending on the size of biscuit.
Leave till cool on try. Then join together with raspberry jam.
Serve 6 on a white paper plate.

                               Hints and Notes
• Read your schedule carefully
• Use the best quality ingredients that are available to you.
• Use plain cutters for scones.
• Castor sugar blends together better than granulated
• Don’t test with a skewer as it leaves an unsightly line through the cake.
Test by ensuring that the top is firm and the cake comes away from the
     edges of the pan.
• Remove patty pan papers and all baking paper from the cakes.
• All cakes to be cooked in round tins 20cm or 8”
• Loaf to be cooked in a loaf tin.
• Put a folded tea towel over the cooling rack to avoid lines on top of the
     cake.
