    SkateNSW reserves the right to change the championships venue up to 7 days prior to the championships.
DATE:           Sunday November 6, 2016
Times:          8am to 2pm.
1.0     ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER

    •   Open to all NSW residential Skate Australia competitive members who have
        competed in a minimum of two (2) separate NSW sanctioned events in the
        preceding 12 months prior to the date of the competition, not including the
        2016 NSW State Championships. Exemptions to these criteria can only be
        approved by the SkateNSW Speed Branch Chairperson and applications must
        be made in writing prior to the close of nominations.
    •   Open to all interstate Skate Australia competitive members.
    •   Open to unattached Skate Australia competitive members.
    •   All competitors nominating must be fully paid Skate Australia competitive
        members at the closing day of nominations.

2.0     NOMINATIONS

    •   All nominations must be made on the official nomination form. Details must
        include the competitors first name (not initials).
    •   Club members must nominate through their clubs. Each club must forward a
        completed summary of nominations for their club to the SkateNSW Speed
        Branch Chairperson before the closing date of nominations.
    •   Unattached members are responsible for obtaining their own unattached
        nomination forms. Unattached members are responsible for forwarding their
        own completed nomination forms to the SkateNSW Speed Branch Chairperson
        before the closing date of nominations.
    •   Any incorrect nominations received will be returned and replacement
        nominations received after the closing date will be charged the late nomination
        fee.
    •   All due nomination fees are to be paid by cheque or money order 2, made
        payable to SkateNSW and must be forwarded to the SkateNSW Speed Branch
        Chairperson by Tuesday 2nd November, 2016.

3.0     FEES

4.0     GRADES AND EVENTS

As per ATTACHMENT 1: GRADES AND DISTANCES - ROAD EVENTS

    •   At the discretion of the Championship Director or Chief Referee some grades
        may be run as combined events depending on nominations. Separate awards
        for each grade will still be presented.

5.0    AWARDS

   •   Medals will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place-getters in all events.
   •   Where an out of state skater wins a medal, a NSW Open Championships
       presentation will first be conducted, followed by a state only presentation for the
       NSW place-getters.
   •   Where a NSW Open Championships presentation occurs only the out of state
       skater will be eligible to keep their Open Championship medal. The NSW skaters
       will keep their NSW place-getters medals.
   •   NSW State Trophies will be awarded to 1st place winners for the Senior Men and
       Senior Women Open events. Interstate skaters are not eligible to receive NSW
       State Trophies.
   •   All Clubs or individuals holding perpetual trophies must return these trophies to
       the SkateNSW State Branch Chairperson by the closing date of nominations.

6.0    OFFICIALS

   •   Championship Director: Daniel Thomson
   •   Those commissioned speed officials rostered to officiate by the NSW panel of CSOC
       and those invited interstate officials.

7.0    DRESS CODE

   •   Only club skinsuits or sponsored skinsuits approved by SkateNSW are to be worn
       during racing.
   •   Sponsored skinsuits must be approved as per the SkateNSW Speed Branch
       sponsorship policy that is available on the SkateNSW website.

PRESENTATIONS - All competitors who are eligible for awards MUST be in their
respective uniforms with skates or shoes on their feet.
                   NO THONGS OR BARE FEET PERMITTED

Team Managers please ensure that your representatives are dressed as prescribed.

8.0    WITHDRAWALS

   •   The Branch Chairperson should be given notice of any withdrawals by the
       representative of the club or by the unattached skater prior to the event.
   •   The State is not obliged to refund registration or nomination fees if entrants
       withdraw from events. Applications for refunds must be in writing and addressed
       to the Branch Chairperson.

9.0    TEAM COACHES AND MANAGERS

   •   Clubs may appoint a Team Coach, the Team Coach must be Skate Australia
       accredited as a coach.
   •   Clubs must appoint a Team Manager who will be responsible for advising their
       team members of any programme changes. Team Manager appointments are to
       be listed in the space provided on the summary of nominations form.
•   Unattached skaters may act as their own Team Manager or can approach a club to
        act on their behalf. In the case where a club is acting on behalf of an unattached
        skater the unattached skater is to inform the Championship director of this
        arrangement in writing prior to the commencement of the championships.

10.0 MARSHALLING AND REPORTING FOR EVENTS

    •   Competitors are to be ready to start their event at the scheduled start time.
    •   Any skaters who do not report within 5 minutes of being called for their event may
        at the discretion of the Chief Referee be disqualified from the event.
    •   Any competitors reporting for their event and not complying with the dress code,
        race numbers or required safety equipment clauses may be disqualified from that
        event.

11.0 PROTESTS AND COMPLAINTS

    •   All skaters and Team Managers should refer to the appropriate rules for the event
        as set out in the rules clause.
    •   Protest fees must accompany all protests and fees are set at $55.00 per event.
        This fee shall be held by the Chairman of the Branch Committee. Fees shall be
        refunded if protests are upheld.

NO PERSON OTHER THAN QUALIFIED OFFICIALS AND COMPETITORS ARE
ALLOWED ON THE SKATING SURFACE.

12.0 RULES

   •    The event will be run under the current CIC rule book. Where clauses in this
        document do not agree with the CIC rules the clause in this document will override
        the CIC rule book.
   •    Only the first 3 skaters need to complete the full race distance. All skaters placed
        4th or below will be finished the first time they cross the finish line after the third
        placed skater has completed the full race distance.
   •    Tracks not meeting the CIC requirements, but which have been granted a
        SkateNSW Championship track exemption, may be used for the event.

13.0 RACE NUMBERS

    •   As per the SkateNSW Speed Branch Racing Numbers Policy and the SkateNSW
        race numbers requirements as available on the SkateNSW website.
    •   All skaters must wear three numbers, left hip, right hip and back.

14.0 REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT

    •   Helmet and gloves must be worn at all times when competitors are wearing
        skates.
    •   Gloves must be worn for all road racing events.

15.0 ANNOUNCEMENTS

•   The championship director will notify team managers of any changes to the
        programme.

16.0 ADVERSE WEATHER

    •   In the event of adverse weather the championship director reserves the right to
        postpone or reschedule the event in line with the provision detailed in the
        SkateNSW Speed Branch adverse weather policy. All attempts will be made to
        reschedule the event to a date3 suitable for all competitors, however in the event
        that the rescheduled date is not suitable applications for refunds will be
        considered. Applications for refunds must be in writing and addressed to the
        Branch Chairperson.

17.0 PHOTOGRAPHY

    •   In entering this event the competitor accepts and agrees to being photographed
        by any approved photographers at the above competition. These images may be
        used in an appropriate manner by SkateNSW and its member clubs for the
        purposes of promoting skating activities. These images may be published via print
        media, website or video presentations.
    •   All persons wishing to take photographs or videos at the SkateNSW State
        Championships must be approved by the SkateNSW Speed Branch Chairperson.
        This approval will be official when that persons name is added to the official event
        photographers list that will be held at the clerks table.

Note: Same Age Grades and Distances for Males and Females (except for the Senior Ladies Open which is
10,000m). Males and Females run as separate categories.

2/3 person mixed 3000m relay events will be conducted if numbers and time permits. Relay teams will be
determined by the SkateNSW State Team Selection Committee with a view to create evenly matched teams.

*Skaters 12 and over may nominate for Senior if their coach deems them to be of suitable ability. A letter from
the skaters coach must be forwarded to the SkateNSW Speed Branch Chairperson with the relevant nomination
form.
