The Tayman, The Tomcats and Others: the
stories of Eamon Kelly as told by Jack Healy
Up to the time of his death in 2001, Eamon Kelly was a household name
in Ireland, largely through the media of TV and Radio, as a Seanachi or ‘old
Irish story-teller’. He regaled the nation with all kinds of stories drawn from
recollections of his Kerry childhood and from rural life in general, and as he
would say, ‘in my father’s time’. Actor Jack Healy gives a selection of these
stories new life in this one man show, placing the work in the context of
Kelly’s other persona, that of a carpenter and woodwork teacher.

Rise - EP Launch
Alice Robinson

Alice Robinson is a Louth-based alternative singer-songwriter who
creates unique musical and lyrical vocabularies. Alice’s vocal style
drifts uneasily, luring the listener in with pretty and tender vocal lines
before succumbing to heartrending shouts and wails of suppression
and resistance. With Kieran Harrington on bass, Ciaran McCreary on
electric guitar and Conor Taaffe on drums, they impressively navigate
the melodic terrain.

Frank Pig Says Hello
Co-Motion Media

Desperately funny and yet deeply tragic, Frank Pig Says Hello is one of the great classics of modern Irish theatre. It
tells the story of Francie Brady growing up in a small Irish town in the 1960s and his descent towards a brutal act that
shocks his community.

Based on Pat McCabe’s Booker-winning novel “The Butcher Boy”, the play distils Francie’s infamous narrative into a
riveting evening of pure theatre.

Featuring mesmerising performances by two actors, Darragh Byrne and John Ruddy, Frank Pig is regarded as one of
the most vivid, hilarious and heart-breaking evocations ever seen on a stage of an Irish childhood and adolescence
gone wrong. From the opening live trumpet notes over an image of a happy, comical boy acting the piglet, to the
breath-taking depiction of a dark deed, this is theatre at its most entertaining and gripping best.

Holy Mary is the story of two nine
year old girls on the days leading up
to the social occasion of the year:
Their First Holy Communion. In
typical Colfer fashion the characters

a misguided father and two cheeky
and lovable nine year olds.
Holy Mary, a hilarious and heart-
breaking tale of Communion,
confusion and consternation.

1840s London. Despite a string of successful novels,
Charles Dickens has been struggling to come up with
another bestseller. Tormented by writer’s block and
at odds with his publishers, he grasps at an idea for a
surefire hit, a Christmas story he hopes will capture the
imagination of his fans and solve his current financial
problems. But with only six weeks to write and publish
the book before the holiday, he will have to work
feverishly to meet his deadline. Studio Theatre

It’s a Wonderful Life
Frank Capra, USA, 1947, 129 mins,
Cert: G

Not just the greatest Christmas
movie ever made, but one of the
true classics of modern cinema.
This moving and beautifully told
story finds George Bailey in turmoil,
having been framed by his arch
rival, torn between his own desires
and aspirations, but struggling to
always do the right thing. This inner
conflict proves too much for Bailey,
who seeks a way out. In classic
Hollywood style, Heaven sends a
guardian angel to remind him how
worthwhile his life has been and to
treasure the good times when the
going gets tough.
