Attendance & Punctuality

Please read the attendance & Punctuality Policy to accompany the below information.

Each week, classes that have achieved or beaten the school attendance target move up on a chart in the hall. At
the end of each half term, the class that achieves the most ‘moves’ will be awarded a non-uniform day. Each term,
attendance certificates are awarded for children who have achieved or beaten the school attendance target.

The school doors open at 8:30am and close at 8:55am. Any child who arrives after 8:55am will have to enter the
building via the main office. They will then receive a late mark. Repeated lateness will result in contact being made
home. If a child arrives after 9:25am is classed as an unauthorised late (unless there is a justifiable reason). This
can result in a fixed penalty notice.

Holidays in term time will not be authorised unless in exceptional circumstances. Please note that the school issues
fixed penalty notices if parents/carers choose to take term-time holidays. For more information please read the
Attendance & Punctuality Policy.

Church Links

We have strong links with St Paul’s Church. The whole school usually visits for Harvest, Christmas and Easter
services although this is currently under review because of Covid-19. We also use church for our Early Years/Key
Stage One Nativity. Members of church regularly visit school and Reverend Glenn leads Collective Worship in
school.

E-Safety – Keeping Children Safe at Online
We teach children in every year group age-appropriate information about keeping safe online. There are regular
reminders and updates on Newsletters as we also have an E-Safety section on our website that contains lots of
information, including links to recommended websites where parents/carers can find out more information.
Extra-Curricular Clubs
A range of extra-curricular clubs are available throughout the year. Regular correspondence is sent out about each
club. Please follow the instructions on each letter if you wish your child to attend.

Homework Requirements

Homework information will be given to you in September via a Class Information Booklet.

Medicines & Medical Information

Any medication needs to be prescribed by a doctor and a form filled in with the main office advising when/how
the medicine should be administered. This includes antihistamines. All allergy sufferers need to be highlighted with
the office staff. If severe, a care plan will be created with School Nursing. Children should not be given ‘over the
counter’ health products to self-administer: staff reserve the right to refuse children permission to use these
should this be the case. Parents/carers should visit the school office should they wish to make such a request. It is
the responsibility of parents/carers to ensure that inhalers remain in date and in school.

Reporting to Parents/Carers

Parents/Carers receive 3 written reports each year. Two shorter reports are sent out towards the end of the
Autumn and Spring Terms. A full written report is sent out towards the end of the academic year. There will be a
Parent/Carer Evening shortly after each shorter report is sent out. We expect every child to be represented at
Parents Evening! Correspondence is sent out regarding Parent/Carer Evenings a few weeks prior to the meetings.

St Paul’s United

We provide before and after school care for children, aged 3-11 who attend St Paul’s School. St Paul’s United offers
a warm, caring and friendly environment and is a popular choice with both children and parents. We utilise the
school grounds to maximum effect – children are able to make dens, take part in activity trails, complete laps on
our running track and take part in a wide range of sporting activities. Mrs Gay, St Paul’s United Manager, plans
exciting and fun activities for the children to take part in. She is ably assisted by a team of dedicated staff, all of
whom work in school in other roles and therefore know the children very well.
Opening Hours
Mornings – 7:45am – 8:45am (the children are taken to their class at 8:45am by staff)
Afternoons – 3:15pm – 6:00pm
Please contact the Main Office or our school website for more information.
