Beginners Kayaking - British Canoeing Start & £82
Discover Course (ref: FKB) 17/02/20 - 18/02/20
2 full days (Monday and Tuesday) - 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Over two full days learn the basic skills and knowledge of
kayaking. The Start Award is exactly what it says on the tin,
it’s a place to start your paddling journey. The Discover Award
allows you to develop your decision making and practical skills
for a fun and safe time on the water. Price includes certification.
Improvers Kayaking - British Canoeing Explore Course (ref: FKI) £99

If you want to become independent on the water, go on self-guided adventures and
know how to control your craft and stay safe on the water, this is the award for you.
If you’ve never been paddling before, it might be worth starting with the Start and
Discover awards. In this award you will take ownership of your own decisions and
learn to make confidence choices, based on the places you paddle, wind and weather.
Price includes certification.
Little Adventurers
Little Adventurers is the perfect way to introduce younger children to outdoor adventure
activities. A low key programme provides an opportunity for 5 to 8 year-olds to build up
their confidence while under the safe supervision of our qualified and
experienced instructors.

A full day of advanced-level kayaking. Improve your skills and
knowledge with new strokes and experiences. You can get
to grips with the local weirs and sections of moving water.
Paddlers should be competent on the water and/or have
completed a beginners course to take part in this day.

How to Book
Visit our website, www.haven-banks.co.uk, and click on the “Book Now” button to create an
account for your child/children (or sign-in if you already have one) then book/pay online. You will
receive confirmation about the course(s) you have booked. Alternatively, if you would prefer to
pay by childcare vouchers simply send us an email stating the participant’s name(s) and course
name/date so we can book your children on for you. Once confirmed you can then make the
payment via your voucher provider. For further information or guidance call our reception on

Early Drop-Off and Late Collection per child per day
The early and late option allows parents to leave their children with us from 8:00 am and collect
after activities finish up until 6:00 pm for full day courses. For afternoon courses early arrival is
from 12:30 pm and for morning courses collection by 1:30 pm. Children not booked into these
options are requested to be at the centre no more than 15 minutes before/after courses.
What to Bring
For all water-based activities, children need to wear old clothes (including footwear) and bring
a towel and complete change of clothes for after the activities. Please ensure your child brings
clothing suited to the weather conditions. All specialist equipment is provided and a limited
selection of wetsuits are available for use upon request. Caving requires wellington boots as
these are not supplied by the centre. Suncream, sun hats and a lightweight rain coat are also
recommended for certain conditions. If your child is attending a full day of activity they will need
to bring a hearty packed lunch with plenty to drink. Unless stated, transport to off-site venues
will be provided at no extra cost. A clothing list, joining instructions, activity information sheets
and timetables are available to download from the specific course booking webpage. Please
