Vice Chair/Chair-Elect
Elected to a three year term: Vice Chair—1 year, Chair—1 year,
Immediate Past Chair—1 year. During the first year of service, the
Vice-Chair coordinates the activities of the RFS under the
direction of the Chair. The Vice-Chair coordinates resident
appointments to the ACR Committees/Commissions and interacts
with appointed resident representatives throughout the year. The
Vice-Chair also chairs the Resident Nominating Committee and
serves as a Councilor to the ACR. In addition to these duties, the
Vice-Chair is responsible for coordinating ad facilitating the RFS
Annual Meeting programming.
Eligibility Requirements: This position requires attendance at
the ACR and RSNA annual meetings during the three-year term.
Candidates must be able to attend the two ACR annual meetings
following their election as either a resident or fellow. Prior service
on an ACR Committee or Commission is required.

Candidate Statement
While so much has changed in a single year, the most important positive thing to come out of
this pandemic is our sense of community within radiology. This entire year, I have seen the
radiology community come closer together than ever before. From sharing resources, utilizing
new educational techniques, or creating new platforms to connect, this pandemic has left the
radiology community more united than ever. These pivots and changes could not have
happened without our thoughtful and fearless leaders. Within my role as Education Liaison as

well as within the role of Chief Resident during 2020, I have been able to improve my own
leadership skills. As a member of the ACR RFS Executive Committee, I have been able to see first
-hand how important it is to have a voice within our vast specialty. Making a meaningful impact
has been extremely gratifying thus far, and I truly hope to continue serving my RFS community.
If elected as your ACR RFS Vice Chair, I hope to continue amplifying the voices of our trainee
community, encouraging participation from any and all training programs, and making sure that
our needs as trainees are met. Thank you so much for your consideration.

Candidate Statement
Over the past year I have been fortunate to serve as the ACR-RFS Advocacy Liaison /AMA Delegate
as well as the Vice-Chair of the Ohio Radiological Society RFS. These positions have provided me the
opportunity to interact with and advocate for trainees across the country. However, I realize that
there is still vast opportunity to strengthen the collective voice of the radiological specialties on a
national level. The opportunity to advocate for the profession and for patients has been one of the
most rewarding experiences as a radiology trainee, and I am dedicated to continuing this work in
my professional career. As physicians, our ultimate goal should be to provide outstanding patient
care that improves the prevention, diagnoses and treatment of disease for as many persons as
possible. One of the most impactful ways to do this is to ensure that we always have a strong
national voice with an engaged and educated ACR membership. As the current Advocacy Liaison, I
successfully spearheaded trainee grassroots efforts to reduce government-proposed
reimbursement cuts to the radiological specialties, I held advocacy workshops where trainees
learned how to create impactful change both locally and nationally, and I led networking events to
develop and strengthen the bond among trainees and national leaders. As Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, I
would passionately work to strengthen the influence of the radiological specialties on a national
scale, enhance trainee education, engagement, and mentorship, and ensure that all trainee voices
are heard and can impact meaningful change.

Elected to a one-year term. Responsibilities include overseeing the
development of the monthly RFS E-News materials, coordinating the
RFS blog alongside ACR staff, coordinating the exchange of
information among Executive Committee members, and drafting
documents which communicate information to outside parties. This
role requires frequent communication with potential authors on a
monthly basis with established deadlines for content curation, an
additional time commitment outside of RFS meeting times. The
Secretary serves as a Councilor to the ACR.

Candidate Statement
Although as residents we are busy learning the fundamentals of radiology, I have had the
opportunity to establish the UAB RAD-AID chapter and to work with an amazing team in order to
bring about local projects to serve marginalized populations in the state of Alabama. Through this
experience I have met several radiologists that fight for equity in healthcare and have become my
mentors and role models. Additionally, my membership roles in UAB and ACR committees has
allowed me to build a network of radiology leaders with shared interests of Education, Diversity,
Equity, and Outreach. As chair of the ACR-RFS Women and Diversity Advisory Group, I initiated
the Women in Radiology Spotlight Q&A articles in the ACR RFS eNews and have been recruiting
members of the group to write articles in every edition of the newsletter. As ACR RFS Secretary, I
will focus on curating articles on the following main topics: 1. DIVERSITY of patients and
physicians, including the continuation of the Women in Radiology series. 2. OUTREACH in
radiology, including RAD-AID and Health 4 the World endeavors in the USA and internationally. 3.
JOB SEARCH and ECONOMICS, an area of interest for all fellows and senior residents, like me. 4.
EDUCATION and EXAMS, to share teaching/learning recommendations from chief residents and
program directors, as well as updates regarding RadExam, DXIT, and ABR examinations. I believe I
have the qualities you seek for this position and would be honored to be considered a candidate.

Candidate Statement
Serving on the RFS executive committee through the role of secretary not only allows me to
help facilitate the process of digital distribution of trainee resources for resident education and
growth, but also this position will be integral in my pursuit of honing and developing my
administrative and interpersonal skills for my future career. My previous role as the Campus
Operations manager for a medical student run free clinic provided me with enriching
experiences of working with our clinic staff in developing and distributing informational
resources to the surrounding patient communities. The organizational and time management
skills developed from adapting and coordinating with my co-residents, attendings, and
administrative staff through my current scheduling leadership positions prepares me for time-
sensitive tasks and consistent communication responsibilities that are expected from the
secretary for the RFS executive committee. Furthermore, participating in our residency’s

program evaluation committee these past few years has allowed me to hone my
interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact and work with a wide range of
individuals; skills which are vital to become a productive, successful and efficient secretary.
Thus, the unique opportunities gained from interacting with and learning from the other
RFS executive committee members and ACR staff as the secretary will undoubtedly be
instrumental in my aspiration of having an administrative role in my future career in
academics.

Elected to a one-year term. Responsibilities include coordinating the
activities of the residency advocacy network in conjunction with the
Radiology Advocacy Network and attending the AMA annual meeting as a
member of the ACR’s AMA delegation. The delegate will represent the
interests of the ACR-RFS at the AMA annual and interim meetings and
provide a written report of the proceedings to the RFS. The AMA Delegate/

Candidate Statement:
With over five of experience in organized medicine, I am excited by the opportunity to serve as
the AMA Delegate and Advocacy Liaison for the ACR-RFS because I am passionate about
advancing medicine through advocacy and health policy. Medicine is an ever-evolving field, and
it is absolutely necessary that physicians take an active role in becoming leaders and advocates
for shaping the future of medicine. Since joining the American Medical Association as a first-
year medical student, I have demonstrated a strong record of leadership and service at multiple
levels of organized medicine. As a member of New York’s delegation to the AMA House of
Delegates (HOD), I advocated against expanding scope of practice and budgetary changes that
would harm our patients while also representing the medical students and physicians of New
York. Through my years of active membership of the AMA-MSS, two state medical societies, and
now the AMA-RFS, I cultivated numerous connections across the country at all levels of training
that will be invaluable to advocating for and supporting the ACR during the AMA HOD.
Furthermore, as an AMA Ambassador, I have experience cultivating a professional presence on
social media which I can use to help the Radiology Advocacy Network advocate for our patients
and colleagues outside of medical society meetings. I am prepared with the experiences, ideas,
and passion to guide me as the AMA Delegate and Advocacy Liaison for our ACR-RFS so that we
can strengthen ourselves, our voices, our section, and our communities.

I would like to be elected as the ACR RFS AMA Delegate and Advocacy Liaison. I first became
interested in civic engagement as a high school student when I was nominated by my peers
and local officials to attend Florida Girls State and the Freedoms Foundation conference. I
continued my involvement serving as Community Service Chair for my medical school
student council, transitional year representative for GME, and R2 representative for
Radiology Residency Council at Northwell. As a first-year radiology resident, I was selected
to represent my residency program and attend the Florida Radiological Society Legislative
and Government Fellowship Program. Following that, I was selected to represent my state
and residency at the 2020 ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference. These
encounters granted me firsthand experience of the legislative process and the true power it
has over health care policy. I aim to find leadership roles that teach and give me the tools to
enable civic engagement and create meaningful policies for my peers and colleagues.
Residents are in a position to encourage discussion between medical students, colleagues,
and faculty alike in order to enact change, advocate, and further the profession of
Diagnostic Radiology. Being elected as the AMA Delegate and Advocacy Liaison will provide
the mentorship and resources to further understand how to shape the role of Radiology
within the national healthcare system.

Elected to a one-year term. Responsibilities include active management of
the RFS social media accounts, RFS Engage Community, and developing and
updating content for the RFS website in conjunction with ACR staff. This
includes writing new articles, facilitating Tweetchats, and developing
content to reflect the evolving issues involving the RFS and the ACR. The
Communications Officer serves as an Alternate Councilor to the ACR.

Candidate Statement
Social media has emerged as vital networking and content-sharing platform within radiology over
the last ten years. Thus, it is imperative that national organizations, such as the ACR, maintain a
robust digital presence. Through social media channels and the RFS Engage forum, the ACR RFS
promotes real-time conversation, networking, and dissemination of information that would not
have been possible a decade ago. As someone who has managed social media for radiology
organizations over the last three years, I am up to date on current practices in digital
communication. ACR RFS has established an excellent digital presence, and I believe I could bring
my experience with social media management, digital design, and digital communication to
continue that trend. In addition to my formal experience with digital communication, I have
participated in Tweet-Chats as a trainee. Participating in these digital conversations as the "end-
user" has given me insight into how these real-time conversations work, as well as what makes
them engaging. I could bring this experience to the ACR RFS communications position to conduct

engaging Tweet-Chats. Finally, I have experience creating and disseminating digital
marketing materials de novo for various programming and conferences over the years.
As a result, I have the background skills necessary to develop and market programming
for the ACR RFS throughout the year to encourage member engagement and
participation.

Candidate Statement
The job of the Communications Officer is to manage, develop and update content for the
RFS social media accounts, Engage community, and website. I believe that I would be able to
contribute the most to this position with my previous experiences and involvement with
various organizations- most notably with the ACR. I have written for the ACR RFS Bulletin
and currently am a part of the ACR Bulletin Advisory Group. I have also helped develop the
joint ACR RFS and JACR tweetchat with the current Communications Officer, moderated my
own JACR tweetchat, and currently serve as a member of the ACR Social Media Committee. I
would like to go further and specifically be the voice for the ACR RFS by bringing in new and
innovative content for issues involving not only the ACR but also the RFS. I would love to
initiate various projects such as helping recognize RFS members for their contribution to our
field, promoting inclusion and diversity, helping increase the use of the RFS engage
community (an underutilized tool the ACR provides), as well as collaborating and uniting the
RFS members of all radiological societies and state chapters! The ACR provides so much to
not only us RFS members, but also the whole radiology community, so I would love to give
even more back to this organization and would truly be honored to serve as the
Communication Officer if elected!

Received $10,000 resident wellness research grant to identify the impact of COVID-19
pandemic on resident wellness and to determine methods to alleviate resident burnout.
Two methods were identified to help reduce resident burnout. The first initiative involved
providing each resident with a yoga mat, access to ClassPass meditation and fitness
classes, as well as an apple watch. There was significantly decrease number of individuals
who reported stress and burnout after the instigation of this initiative. To further expand
on this concept of reducing burnout, a future resident trip to CedarPoint® is planned once
restrictions have been lifted and the pandemic has ended. With this $10,000 resident
wellness research grant, I was able to determine initiatives to reduce resident burnout.
RSNA Physics Module reviewer
Selected to review “Radiation Dose and Safety in Interventional Radiology” RSNA module
with Dr. Joseph Davis MD, Duke University. Presented resident perspective upon review of
RSNA modules. These self-guided modules help to supplement radiology resident
education with physics knowledge required for the Radiology Core Exam.
Radiographics selection RSNA 2020 Exhibit
Presented educational exhibit on coronary artery calcium scoring at RSNA 2020, titled
“Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring: Past, Present, and Future”. This educational exhibit
centered on presenting the different scoring methods (Agatston, volume, and mass scores)
for calcium scoring. Furthermore, future directions of coronary artery calcium scoring
were discussed including the use of virtual contrasted enhanced CT to calculate calcium
scoring. Exhibit was selected for Radiographics.
RSNA resident representative
Nominated by program director to act as Case Western Reserve Residency contact for
RSNA organization to disseminate information to the program residents.
President of Case Western Reserve University Association for Residents and Fellows
Duties included organizing $50,000 budget for 5 major events planned throughout the
year in coordination with Cleveland Clinics and Metro Health resident and fellow
organizations. Directly planned Halloween party at the Cleveland House of Blues as well as
Ugly Sweater Party at a local club. Instituted resident basketball league.

After completing research in all facets of radiology, I currently have 7 published papers, 7
accepted abstracts (RSNA, ARRS, and ASNR), and 2 oral presentations at ARRS. Through these
experiences, I am able to broaden my knowledge in radiology. I hope to continue this activity
as a future academic radiologist.

Episode 1: Life of a Radiology Resident with 9.7k views.
I hope to use this channel to expose medical students to the life of a diagnostic radiology
residents. I have completed a video demonstrating call as a diagnostic radiologist which has
obtained 9.7k views on YouTube. I am currently producing my next episode which will focus
on the subspecialties of radiology. As a previous medical student who did not have adequate
experience with radiology, I hope to use this channel as an educational tool to provide a non-
biased portrayal of what life truly is like as a DR resident.

Previously I have helped to develop numerous projects. For example, as a preliminary resident
in Internal Medicine, I helped to create a website that provided diagnoses based on existing
algorithms such as hyponatremia, arterial blood gas interpretation, pulmonary function test
interpretation, etc (https://algomd.herokuapp.com/). I am currently working on a
communication device to help direct IR patients on how to optimize their periprocedural care.
Candidate Statement
In a pandemic world, communication through Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and Facebook is a
necessity to interact with other radiology residents, and medical students. As someone who has
created a successful YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/NealShah/), Twitter account
(@nealshahmd), and programmed websites (https://algomd.herokuapp.com/), I feel that I am a
strong candidate for the ACR Communications Officer position.
By creating a YouTube channel, I strived to expose medical students and the general public to
daily life as a radiology resident. This channel explores day to day tasks as a radiology resident,
subspecialties of radiology, and the social life of a radiologist. My first video generated over 9,700
views. Using this knowledge, I hope to expand the ACR RFS social media accounts.
Furthemore, I have an interest in #MedEd. I personally have pursued this ideology by creating call
prep pertinent mini-lessons on Twitter (@nealshahmd). By selecting one or two topics each week,
I attempted to break up more complex lessons into digestible bites that were pertinent to the
junior resident level. Using these skills, I will be able to contribute to communication in the
education realm for ACR RFS.
Moreover, I have many experiences in webpage development. Previously as an intern, I helped to

Elected to a one-year term. Chairs the RFS Education Subcommittee.
Responsibilities include the execution of the RFS goals, specifically
those that relate to education and coordinating these activities with
the American Alliance of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology and
affiliated organizations. The liaison will engage with the ACR
Commission on Publications and Lifelong Learning to provide RFS input
regarding existing offerings and the development of new programs and
services. The liaison will help to communicate the value of programs
such as the Radiology Leadership Institute, AIRP, and the Education

Radiology is rapidly developing field with ongoing changes driven by additive knowledge,
technology advances, and new policies. As a trainee, the amount of information may feel
overwhelming. There is already enough to learn involving fundamentals of radiology, preparing
for calls and studying for the board exams. Nonetheless, we all try to stay up to date with both
the science and business aspects of radiology. It would be an honor to serve as the education
liaison. I will work to expand the resources available for trainees including the ones in non-
interpretive skills, wellness, informatics, and research. I will also keep up to date curated list of
useful educational resources accessible for members-in-training. My skills and experience in the
following areas will help me:
(1) Informatics and clinical research (over 5 years). I also have past experience in public health,
policy and health service research. I will assess residents’ educational needs and work
collaboratively to develop resources in these areas.
(2) Leadership: I have served in multiple leadership roles (including within radiological societies -
the ACR, SIR, and SNMMI). I further developed my skills by participating in radiology leadership
institute events.
(3) Education: I have worked as a teaching assistant, instructor and tutor, and workshop
organizer in the past 7 years. I led several journal clubs, conducts multiple case conferences, and
creates local teaching files and video lectures repository during residency. All these together
with my enthusiasm, and commitment to education, will allow me to best serve as the ACR-RFS
Education Liaison.

As an editor for the American Journal of Medical Quality (AJMQ) QTIP column
and a member of AJMQ’s abstract selection committee, I realized a journal may not
be limited to print publications; a journal can be a multimedia platform with a vibrant
community to further a discipline. As the RFS Education Liaison, I want to help
transform the resident oriented resources of the JACR from a print dominated
platform into a venue where people can share ideas through videos, live webinars,
and discussion, especially in our COVID-distanced environment. Content can be
moderated by knowledge experts to advance discussion of topics in cutting-edge
radiology. My work as an AJMQ editor with Sage and Wolter Kluwer also gave me
insight on the limitations of platforms and taught me to identify topics most
interesting to readers. I plan to use my experience to grow radiology education
without oversteps.
Additionally, as a radiology resident, I’ve become chapter chief of Rad-Aid and
chapter president of Health4TheWorld at Stony Brook. These experiences along with
my experience as a board of trustees member of American College of Medical
Quality’s (ACMQ) taught me how to efficiently contribute to projects of parent
organizations and relay fairly student/resident/fellow input regarding development
of new programs and services. In addition to organizational leadership, these
experiences also show me how to effectively represent my organization to new
members and partnering programs alike. As the RFS Education Liaison, I have no
doubt I can contribute to RFS section’s continued educational success.

ACR and Chapter Activities
I have been a member of the ACR sine 2016. My first ACR meeting was in 2017, where I
was granted a Radiology Medical Student Scholarship to attend. I am currently serving as a
member of the Non-Interpretive Artificial Intelligence Working Group for the Data Science
Institute. This group has been responsible for developing use cases to determine how AI
could improve the radiology workflow, patient experience and communication. The past
few years, I have had the opportunity to co-author multiple articles published in the
Journal of the American College of Radiology, and published my own first first-author
publication titled "The Role of Generative Adversarial Networks in Radiation Reduction
and Artifact Correction in Medical Imaging."
Relevant Extracurricular Activities
Emory University Radiology Residency Imaging Informatics Pathway: This specialized
pathway within the residency program dedicates research time to lectures, invited talks,
research projects and meeting involving imaging informatics. For the year of 2021, I am
working with a wonderful co-resident to determine the curriculum for the year and set up
lectures.
Emory Radiology Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, Resident Member: This committee
works to ensure that the Radiology Department (including faculty, trainees, and
applications) are committed to a diverse culture with initiatives specially designed to
improve diversity in recruiting and with current department members.
Candidate Statement
I would like to be considered for the Education Liaison. It is my understanding that there is
limited exposure to radiology during medical school for many if not most institutions. The
American College of Radiology has a wealth of resources to maximize the impact of a
radiology rotation (either in the reading room, or virtual in our current situation) by offering a

'PACS workstation' experience to students. For many students, shadowing a radiologist does
not accurately reflect the engaging and stimulating work that a radiologist does on a day to
day basis. However, not all institutions have the bandwidth to set up a student at a spare
workstation with a great practice case to try on their own. As education liaison I would like
to work with ACR, radiology programs, residents and students to develop an engaging set of
interactive cases with clinical history and multiple findings to better simulate the
intellectually challenging work they would experience as a resident. Currently, I am working
within the Imaging Informatics pathway at my residency program which I believe will offer a
solid background in technology, systems and communication to effectively work with
multiple groups to improve the medical student experience during radiology clerkships.

at the discretion of the Chair. Responsibilities include communicating
key issues in radiation oncology to the RFS Executive Committee,
participating in the development of ACR-supported educational material
for radiation oncology residents and communicating with the
Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) on educational
projects. The representative promotes the importance of radiation
oncology resident participation by contacting residency program
directors and ACR state chapters to increase awareness and improve
funding options for attendance at the ACR annual meeting. The

I recently became a member of the ACR in December 2020. Since that time I have unfortunately
been unable to actively contribute within any chapter committees, however with this applica-
tion I hope to change that soon. I am very active in other radiation oncology specific organiza-
tions, which I will outline in the 'relevant extracurricular activities' section.
Relevant Extracurricular Activities
ARRO Education Subcommittee Member: I am one of 24 members who serve on the ARRO
subcommittee specifically designed to create new educational material and lead ongoing
education related projects. I am the only elected first year radiation oncology resident. My
responsibilities have included both the single author design of comprehensive case reviews (my
35most recent topic: Treatment of Meningiomas) and the personal facilitation of high yield clinical
webinars (upcoming: Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma by Dr. Sunil Krishnan M.D.).
Mayo Clinic Fellows Association Executive Committee: I am one of 7 members who represents all
residents and fellows at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville. This includes PGY2-PGY5 members, I am the
only elected PGY-2. My responsibilities include communicating with Mayo Clinic program
directors to improve utilization of department finances, educational curriculum, and resident
well-being. I am most recently responsible for the utilization of a $10,000 grant to improve
resident advocacy efforts and quality of life.

Candidate Statement
There are two primary reasons that I am seeking the opportunity to serve as the ACR radiation
oncology representative. The first is to actively contribute to educational resources available for
radiation oncology residents. As a significantly involved member of the ARRO education
subcommittee I am uniquely equipped to bridge these two organizations and generate the
highest yield educational materials.
The second revolves around advocacy for both my fellow residents and the field of radiation
oncology in general. This personally includes topics such as board examinations, the alternative
payment model, required case logs, and physician burnout. My active role in numerous radiation
oncology specific organizations has provided me with unique insight into the most pressing issues
within radiation oncology today. As a councilor to the ACR I would have the opportunity to bring
awareness to these topics and formulate actionable change.
Additionally, the ACR annual meeting represents the ideal opportunity to promote cross
communication between the radiation oncology community and the ACR. My experiences within
the Mayo Clinic Fellows Association have made me comfortable discussing both advocacy and
financial topics with various program directors. I believe that I would be very effective in
increasing radiation oncology resident participation at the ACR annual meeting by both discussing
its importance and finding financial avenues to fund attendance.
Ultimately, serving as the radiation oncology representative would offer me the opportunity to

student membership increased by 500 members, and we expanded our mentorship program to
more residents and students during the Covid-19 pandemic. I worked with industry and academic
institutions in order to coordinate monthly webinars geared towards residents and students to
increase advocacy for the organization and provide useful content to members in training.
Serve as the Chief Resident of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in
St. Louis where I coordinate scheduling and education for a group of 16 residents.
Serve as a reviewer of CNS and Head and Neck peer-reviewed articles for the International
Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics (IJROBP) since 2019.
Active member-in-training in RSNA, ASTRO, ACP, RADRES, and ARS national organizations where I
have presented oral presentations at annual meetings and have built strong networking
relationships with co-residents and attending physicians.

I am declaring my candidacy to serve as Radiation Oncology Representative of ACR-RFS in
order to promote resident education, serve as an advocate for members-in-training, and increase
radiation oncology engagement with the ACR-RFS as a whole. As the immediate past chair of the
American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) Resident Committee, I was able to bolster the
resident committee's outreach to radiation oncology residents through innovative forums such as
webinars, mentorship, scholarships, and producing educational resources for board examinations.
These efforts were effective in increase the cohort of members-in-training significantly and
increase participation in the ACRO annual meeting as well.
In addition, I serve as Chief Resident of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington
University in St. Louis where I have further built upon my leadership skills and served as an
advocate for my co-residents to the program administration. I plan to use these leadership and
organizational abilities to benefit radiation oncology members of ACR-RFS and increase the scope
of membership and outreach the organization can achieve. Importantly, I will strive to improve the
communication between members-in-training and the ACR-RFS through all available avenues
including social media and integrate feedback into our future initiatives.

I am very eager to get involved with the ACR-RFS! I believe I have many skills that will help me make a posi-
tive contribution to the ACR and work effectively on the Nominating Committee. Recently, my responsibili-
ties helping with my own residency program’s interview season has emphasized the importance of staying
organized in order to properly conduct interviews, promote one’s professional organization, and engage
with interested applicants. I was heavily involved in helping develop entirely new workflows and logistics to
interview and engage with interested applicants because of the COVID pandemic! As such, I am comforta-
ble with the amount of teamwork and coordination necessary to properly, and fairly, carry out these types
of tasks.
I have always enjoyed working and collaborating with my colleagues across many specialties. I also am a
great communicator and planner and have held numerous leadership positions in organization involved in
community service, medical education, and professional development. These experiences have given me a
strong foundation of teamwork and leadership skills that will help me thrive as a member of the ACR-RFS. I
believe working on the nominating committee will be a great first step for me to get involved with the ACR-

Through the day-to-day grind of residency, it can be easy for an individual resident to
feel his or her voice is insignificant and that they have no say in the decisions that
affect their everyday lives. The RFS is an organization that brings us together and
gives us a strong, unifying voice at the highest levels of the specialty. It is important
that we have the best and brightest among us serving on the RFS Executive
Committee, which is why I find a position on the RFS Nominating Committee to be
such an important role. To help decide who will unify our resident voice takes
someone who is honest, hard-working, and a good judge of character. I believe I
check all of these boxes and could excel in the role. I have experience serving on
multiple committees throughout medical school and residency such as my current
