General Information
What is the Camp-O-Ree?

Each fall, the Scouts of Dan Beard Council assemble to celebrate the end of
summer activities with a Camp-O-Ree. Each year the setting and activities
change, but the goal remains the same: join with fellow Scouts to enhance
Scouting skills and build ties to community.

Adult Leadership

Per BSA Youth Protection guidelines, a minimum of two registered adult leaders
must be in attendance for each Unit; at least one leader must be age 21 or older and
be available to the Scouts of your Unit at all times. Each Unit is responsible for their
Scouts.

2021 Camp-O-Ree COVID Protocol

Your safety and the safety of all our participants and volunteer staff is this event’s
top priority. While many things are beginning to normalize, we continue to
monitor the information provided by health experts and government agencies to
help keep safe those who choose to attend this training.

Our Council Health Supervisor is coordinating with state and local health
departments to ensure we are informed of and comply with their guidance to
mitigate the risks of COVID-19 while at this event [a Scout is Obedient]

For 2021 Camp-O-Ree West, our safety measures include adherence to Dan Beard
Council recommendations (found at: https://danbeard.org/healthy-and-safe-
scouting-covid-19/). These measures include:

                                                                                         3
• Each Unit is expected to monitor the health of its’ own members and ensure
that all attendees are healthy [Scout is Trustworthy].
  • Our Program will be conducted outdoors.
  • All Staff and Participants will be asked to wear a facial covering (covering
BOTH mouth and nose) during activity that places them in close contact with
others for more than 15 minutes, even outdoors.
  • Units will bring and prepare their own food (no large meal gatherings).

Each person is responsible for keeping themselves safe and communicating their
personal safety needs to those around them at all times. If you feel unsafe, step
away.
