Welcome to the Family!
Yes, FAMILY. Staten Island Academy Day Camp is a big, fun-filled family experience and we are so
pleased to have you become a part of it!
We have big plans for your child’s summer. They include plenty of smiles and laughter brought on
by cotton candy, swimming, friends, rides, rockets, costumes, and maybe some snow. Your children
will bring home projects and dance moves. They’ll make ice cream and memories. They’ll search for
hidden treasure and brave a haunted house. Your children—our campers—will make friends,
exercise their mind and body and focus on only one thing—having a carefree summer. It’s our goal
to have every camper start out their day smiling as they enter our gates and end their day with,
“That was the best day ever. I can’t wait to come back tomorrow!” Then we’ve done our job. We
strive to achieve that goal each summer by providing you with the peace of mind that comes with
knowing our well-trained, qualified, highly-screened and professional staff of counselors,
lifeguards, security, and administration are here to welcome you and your child and make sure
that you all have the best summer ever. We want happy campers and satisfied parents. For that
reason we’re focused on making sure your child’s day is filled with activities, events, and
experiences that are new and enriching. We’re also focused no making sure our parents feel
well-connected and confident in the knowledge that while your children are here, they are safe,
secure, and appreciated. Every family that comes to camp becomes a part of our FAMILY. Our
campers grow up here. It’s what makes our camp special. We know what makes campers happy
because our staff hasn’t just been trained in it—they’ve lived it. Talk to our staff at an Open House
or call and speak to us. We’re a big family, but we never run out of smiles, hugs, or time for new

June 14–August 13, 2021 Staten Island Academy offers individual instruction in many

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
« EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT « Individual lessons in swimming can be arranged with our

ARTS & CRAFTS
All of our campers get their hands dirty with original and
fun art projects all summer long. They might sculpt, paint,
draw or bring home a three-dimensional hanging monster.
WEEKLY EVENTS
If you’ve had a camper at Staten Island Academy DayCamp,
you’re probably very familiar with the terms “Super Soaker
Day,” “Halloween in July” and “Color Wars!” If it’s your first
time with us, get ready to hear about these events and so
much more! See the Camp Calendar for full details
SWIM PROGRAM
Two swim periods are built into every camp day! We are
an authorized Red Cross Learn-to-Swim (LTS) Program
provider. The LTS Program focuses on water adaptation,
stroke development and safety skills. It is designed to
help students advance through swim levels at their own
pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to
the next. Each level of LTS includes training in basic
water safety and helping others in an emergency, in
addition to stroke development. Our experienced
American Red Cross certified water safety instructor and
staff of certified lifeguards will supervise the program. All
campers have the option to attend group instructional
swim. Group instruction is a great tool to aid in the
development of each camper’s swim ability. Fridays and
all afternoons are free swim. For more information on the

DANCE AND CAMP SHOW
Take some music and movement, throw in some
gymnastics, add a touch of funk and a ton of energy, and
you get our experienced dance instructors and campers at
Dance! The program culminates in the annual Camp
Show, which is being held Thursday, August 12, 2021. Two
shows are scheduled, and more information is given out
during the summer. Make plans to be there for the
standing ovations!

TRAVERSE/CLIMBING WALL
The rock wall provides an exciting challenge for our
campers. Your child will have a blast in an industry
standard, safe, supervised environment, while improving
strength, flexibility, endurance, balance and even memory.
GA-GA PIT
It takes coordination, concentration and quick action to
play this fast-paced, Israeli-style, dodge ball game that is
a perfect fit for our smallest to our tallest campers!
GAME ROOM
Our older campers get a chance to take a break from the
heat in our game room featuring some “classic” standards
like Pac-Man and some new favorites as well.
TENNIS COURTS, GYMNASIUM AND FIELDS
How about some tennis, soccer, wiffle ball, football,
basketball, softball or kickball? Don’t forget European
Handball! Not sure what that is? Join us, and you’ll find
out! The Academy’s 12-acre campus is open to our
campers for all this and more!

ENGINEERING USING LEGO®
AUGUST 2-6
We’re so excited to partner with Play-Well TEKnologies to bring this
dynamic program to camp this summer! Open to campers entering
Kindergarten-Grade 6, this program will teach engineering, math,
technology and more, all while the kids are just having fun! Engineering
Using LEGO® is a 3-hour program that consists of an introduction, two
projects and free time. The program is designed to develop and enhance
problem-solving and critical thinking skills, introduce the concepts and
vocabulary of engineering, architecture and physics, and encourage
creativity and self-expression. Space is limited in this program so early
registration is recommended. You may choose to register for the 3-hour
program only or add wrap-around summer camp to give your child a full
day that includes swim, lunch, trips (for campers entering Grades 5 and
6) and much more.

TAGcamp

TAGcamp is the Talented and Gifted Summer
Program at Staten Island Academy. TAG
campers take part in three class offerings
each day. Classes are interactive and designed
to help bright students explore interesting
subjects. Topics in the sciences, technology,
math, humanities and the arts are explored in
a deep, creative way. In addition to the

Summer 2021 finally arrives! Giants, Juniors, Intermediates, Seniors & Super Seniors Days—Fun filled
welcome days to camp. Ice cream party for all groups as we enjoy a week-long summer celebration! You may
also choose to participate with our resident Tennis Pro in Ed Perpetua’s tennis camp.
WEEK 2: WACKY WEEK, JUNE 21–JUNE 25
Inside-out/Backwards Day—Be creative with this one. Goofy is good on these next few days.
Crazy Socks Day—Earn the bragging rights to this coveted title.
Crazy Hat Day—Winners compete for prizes during our parade.
WEEK 3: RED, WHITE & BLUE WEEK, JUNE 28–JULY 2
Includes Flag Day—A comprehensive art day where every camper will make a creative American flag.
USA Day—Wear any clothing bearing the mighty “USA” letters. Great American Pastime—“Got baseball?”
Rocket Day—Mr. Wollney fires off our sky rockets on the lower campus!
WEEK 4: SCAVENGER HUNT WEEK, JULY 6–JULY 9 (CAMP CLOSED JULY 5)
Clues are everywhere, but can you find them? Trivia Challenge Day—Test your knowledge of all things
factual; earn points for your group. Pot o’ Gold Day—Seek and you shall find. The treasure that is…
Pirate Day—Ahoy mate! Dress as your favorite pirate—gold tooth & peg leg included.
WEEK 5: PICTURE PERFECT WEEK, TAGCAMP BEGINS, JULY 12–JULY 16
Join us at the TIKI HUT for a tropical island adventure and bring your own coconuts! Super Soaker
Day—Plan on being wet from head to toe all day long. Our giant slide is so much fun, too. Picture
Day—Smile! You look marvelous.
WEEK 6: CARNIVAL WEEK AND TAGCAMP CONTINUES, JULY 19–JULY 23
Days filled with rides, contests, prizes, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn and more! Try your aim and get
your counselors soaked at the Dunk Tank. Join us in the gym for our Dance Party hosted by E Squared!
WEEK 7: COSTUME WEEK, TAGCAMP CONCLUDES, JULY 26–JULY 30
Start off with a couple of tie-dye days to ready yourselves for Hippie Day. Peace! Disney Day—Here is a
chance to transform into your favorite character. I’m partial to Donald Duck. How about joining us for
Halloween in July. We dare you to enter our Haunted House! You can also just go trick or treating. Candy for
everyone. Pajama Day – wear your comfy pj’s and just roll out of bed. Easy, right?
WEEK 8: CHALLENGE CUP WEEK AND ENGINEERING WITH LEGO®, AUG 2–AUG 6
Color Wars brings friendly competition all week long. Teams try and score points to become
winners of The Cup—Red or Blue. Only time will tell. Amazing Race Day—Apache Relay meets
Wide World of Sports. Everyone gets involved in this camp-wide field event. Winter Wonderland Day Who
can build the best snowman? All these events count towards the winner of “The Cup!”
WEEK 9: CAMP SHOW WEEK, AUG 9–AUG 13
Two final days of rehearsal for the BIG DAY! Boogie down to the theater and grab the hottest ticket in town.
You will have to wait by the stage door for autographs though. Farewell Party—The most fun day of the
summer… a day-long celebration of newly formed friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. You
might even witness a few happy tears at pick up time.

• I hereby enroll the camper named above and agree to ALL terms and conditions outlining the requirements of the
StatenIsland Academy Summer Program. Enrollment is for the time specified and any additional time may be extended
to me if space is available.
• Staten Island Academy reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose behavior is disruptive to the day camp program.
In such cases, there will be no refund.
• I grant to Staten Island Academy and to its employees the right to photograph my child and to use these photographs or
video recordings for print or electronic publishing.
• A fully completed medical form MUST be on file in the camp office by June 1, 2021. Both the parent section and the
physician section must be completed.
• Each application MUST be accompanied by a minimum 50% deposit and appropriate non-refundable registration fee.
Applications received after June 1, 2021 require payment in full at time of registration.
• All camp balances must be paid in full by July 6, 2021.
• A late fee of $50 per month will be charged to each invoice that remains unpaid as of July 1, 2021. In addition, a 20%
(APR) finance charge per month will be added to each invoice that remains due as of September 1, 2021.
• Registration for 2021 will not be accepted until ALL prior balances are paid in full. Any family with an outstanding camp
balance from a previous season must submit payment in full for the 2021 season at the time of registration.
• Staten Island Academy Day Camp accepts the following methods of payment: Master Card, Visa or checks.
• There is a $50 returned check fee.
• Additions to the original registration are permitted and will be calculated at the time of the change.
• Changes made to the original registration contract starting June 1, 2021 will be subject to a $50 change fee.
• All changes or additions made to the registration must be accompanied by full payment.
• A refund (less a $100 fee) will be offered for all cancellations made before June 1, 2021.
• Cancellations made after June 1, 2021 will be subject to loss of registration fee and assessed a $25 per day cancellation
fee. No refunds will be issued after June 1, 2021.
• Staten Island Academy Day Camp will NO LONGER issue refunds for missed days, including sick days. Absences due to
extended illness or injury only, when space permits, will be issued a “make-up voucher”. A timely request for a voucher is
required and must be accompanied by a doctor’s note. All requests must be made by August 13, 2021.
• Cancellations Schedule:
• Before June 1: Forfeit of $100 fee
• June 1 – July 1: Refund less cancellation fee ($25/day) and registration fee
• After July 1: Voucher ONLY. Request must be accompanied by a doctor’s note.
• Transportation fees must be paid in full before your child’s first day of camp. Changes to your child’s transportation
contract cannot be guaranteed after June 1, 2021. Refunds WILL NOT be issued for deletions or cancellations in
