Rony Male Breed: Vizsla Handler: John D. Location: Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) Favorite treat: Rony has a lot of favorite treats. He thinks that anything edible is fair game! Favorite toy: Rony isn’t picky when it comes to toys. However, he goes crazy over anything that squeaks! Rony has his sights on being President one day. He already knows how to command a room and is ready to make that leap after retirement!

Csoki Male Breed: German Short-Haired Pointer Handler: Katie C. Location: Denver International Airport (DEN) Favorite treat: His favorite treat is a daily dental chew right before bedtime. Favorite places: Csoki loves to play fetch but he’s not very good at catching the ball. One day he will get it! Favorite toy: Csoki’s favorite toy is a KONG ball. He also really enjoys borrowing toys from his siblings. Csoki really likes to play in the snow because it’s pretty fluffy. He LOVES digging in it.

Djanni Male Breed: German Short-Haired Pointer Handler: Jason W. Location: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) Favorite treat: Djanni is always ready for Greenies or DENTASTIX to keep his pearly whites pretty. Favorite places: Djanni loves coming home to relax and play with his K9 brother, Alfie. Alfie was the 2019 National Dog Day contest winner and retired last year. Djanni and Alfie are inseparable and are the best of friends. Favorite toy: Djanni’s favorite toy is a KONG Wubba. Djanni has only been at work for a year and he hopes to win the contest next year and follow in Alfie’s footsteps! Watch out world!!

Hunter Male Breed: German Short-Haired Pointer Handler: Robert S. Location: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Favorite treat: Hunter’s favorite treat is a good old-fashioned ice cube. Favorite places: Hunter is a lover of airports, especially LAX. He truly enjoys going to work and loves his job of keeping the skies safe. After a long day at work, his favorite stress reliever is playing in the yard. Favorite toy: Hunter lives for his Nylabone and large squeaky tennis balls. Hunter’s favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz and he can’t get enough of the Tin Man. He dreams of being in movies one day just like Toto.

Memorial DayRon Male Breed: Labrador Retriever Handler: Dawn F. Location: Oakland International Airport (OAK) Favorite treat: Ron enjoys anything freeze-dried. Favorite places: Ron’s favorite place is on the top step of the swimming pool but when it’s really hot, the pool is the only place for him. Favorite toy: Squeaker ball. Ron loves to play fetch and enjoys going to the field where he can play ball all day long. Ron is thinking of joining the Olympic swim team when he retires. He thinks he can show them a trick or two in order to win more gold medals.

Favorite places: Jade-Jane gets really excited about wide open spaces where she can run fast in big circles. She also really enjoys trying to catch squirrels. Favorite toy: Jade-Jane loves her Kong, but enjoys playing catch with her bumper toy when not at work. Jade-Jane wants to be President someday. She already has the official portrait ready to go when the time comes. She may have to fight Rony on the title though.

After a long swim, JJagoda likes to lounge in her comfy armchair. Favorite toy: JJagoda’s favorite toy is a frisbee! She’s pretty athletic and will jump in the air to catch it. She also really enjoys the occasional tennis ball or stick in the backyard. JJagoda can’t get enough of playing with her pink Cuz toy. It’s her favorite color and toys bring her joy!

named after Jake Denis Jagoda, a trader on the 105th floor of the World Trade

Kwanzaa Begins New Year’s Eve 30 31Bella-Bell Female Breed: German Short-Haired Pointer Location: Sacramento International Airport (SMF) Favorite treat: Bella-Bell loves cookies. Favorite places: She enjoys lounging on the couch after a long day. Favorite toy: Bella-Bell is not a fussy dog. She will play with any ball and really enjoys running around playing. Bella-Bell was named in tribute to Nina Patrice Bell who died on September 11, 2001. The TSA passenger screening canines at SMF are handled by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies who are amazing partners in ensuring the safety of the flying public.
DID YOU KNOW?
The TSA National Explosives Detection Canine Program trains and deploys both TSA-led and state and local law enforcement led canine teams in support of day-to-day activities that protect
the transportation domain. TSA trains canine teams to operate in the aviation, multimodal, maritime, mass transit and cargo environments. Law enforcement officers make up approximately
65 percent of the teams and approximately 35 percent are transportation security inspectors.
