21 st Annual Wild Game Feast Saturday, February 22, 2020
A very special thank you to the over 400 people who
attended the 2019 Wild Game Feast. We had a beautiful
evening filled with fun, food and fellowship, and one
hundred percent of the event proceeds provide comfort
and care to families who have critically ill or injured
children in the hospital. Ronald McDonald House Charities
of the Rio Grande Valley welcomes families to use our
three facilities, our House located in Harlingen, or our Family Rooms, located inside Valley Baptist Medical
Center, Harlingen and Edinburg Children’s Hospital in Edinburg.
Over the past 20 years the Wild Game Feast has become not only the largest annual fundraising event for the
Ronald McDonald House Charites of the RGV, but also one of the most highly anticipated and well attended
event in the Rio Grande Valley community.

Limited Edition 5X7 WGF printOur Mission Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Rio Grande Valley provides a “home away from home” for families of critically ill or injured children receiving medical treatment in Rio Grande Valley hospitals. Our House Ronald McDonald House was built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the healing of their child—not where they can afford to stay, not where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest. Our House is more than just a place to stay - we provide a caring home-like atmosphere where families can get a good night’s rest, knowing their child is close by. By staying at the Ronald McDonald House, parents can better communicate with their child’s medical team and focus on the health of their child. Our Family Rooms Research shows that a family presence in the hospital helps children heal faster and cope better. That is why the Ronald McDonald House Charities offers Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. When your child or newborn is ill or injured, it can be draining both mentally and physically. The thought of leaving your child’s side during a medical crisis is unimaginable, but parents need to stay strong for their child. Our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms extend the comfort of a Ronald McDonald House into hospitals and provide a bit of time within the walls of the hospital where families can rest, regroup, grab a quick snack to eat or just have a private moment, while only a few steps away from their child’s bedside. Our Family Rooms are located at the Edinburg Children’s Hospital and Valley Baptist Medical Center. Who Can Stay Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are open to parents , grandparents and legal guardians of children 21 or younger, who have been admitted to a hospital for medical treatment. No Family is Turned Away for Inability to Pay When a child is sick and in the hospital, a family’s needs have very little to do with income and their income is not a consideration for a family’s admittance. Although we ask for a $10.00 per night donation, this donation is waived if the family cannot afford to pay due to financial restraints. About 95% of families who call one of our facilities “Home” are not able to pay the fee. But no family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
