                   Getting married in Royal Windsor
The Windsor Guildhall is a stunning 17th-century venue located in the
heart of Royal Windsor. The magnificent interior provides a unique
setting for weddings, renewal of vows and
      citizenship ceremonies.

      The impressive chamber, with its
chandeliers and fine collection of royal
portraits spanning the years between Queen
Elizabeth I and Queen Elizabeth II, seats
100 guests. The intimate Ascot Room,
chosen by Prince Charles for his wedding to
Camilla Parker Bowles, seats 15 guests.

Your day in Windsor
You are warmly welcomed to Windsor to join us in celebrating the marriage of
Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank. Below is our guide to the day and
our tips for making the most of your visit.

Order of the day
11.00am Bride arrives and wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel,
           Windsor Castle begins.
12.00pm Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank’s carriage
           procession through Windsor begins.
12.15pm Carriage procession and arranged public celebrations conclude.
12.30pm Windsor is your oyster!

Making the most of your time in Windsor
Whether you are coming especially for the day or lucky enough to be here for
longer, we hope you will make the most of your time in our historic town and
borough.
Before the day’s events begin, why not enjoy a delicious breakfast at one of
our friendly cafes or restaurants. There’s plenty to choose from within a short
walking distance of Windsor Castle where you’ll find everything from freshly-
baked croissants to a full English.
Once the carriage procession has taken the newly-married couple into the
castle, relax and watch the world go by at one of our continental-style cafes,
riverside restaurants or traditional pubs. Both Windsor Royal Shopping and
Windsor Yards shopping centres also offer plenty of choice for a lazy lunch.
Windsor and Eton is a shopper’s heaven, with a glorious mix of upmarket
brands, high street names and independent stores with Windsor Royal
Shopping at its heart, occupying the site of the 1850s railway station.
This connects with Windsor Yards, a pedestrian-friendly collection of stores.
You’ll find souvenir shops in the cobbled streets around the 17th century
Windsor Guildhall where you’ll also discover Windsor’s well-photographed
‘crooked’ house and one of the shortest streets in the UK.
While Windsor Castle will be closed 11-12 October 2018, there are plenty of
things to do in the local area.

booking tickets for local visitor attractions, dining options, guide books and
souvenirs, where to stay and all your enquiries about the area.
You can discover more on a guided walking tour, or download and follow
the Queen’s Walkway or Eton Walkway for fascinating facts about the area.
Eton is just across the river by pedestrian bridge and offers some interesting
independent shops and restaurants and of course the famous Eton College
at the far end of the High Street.
Enjoy a tranquil boat trip on the River Thames with French Brothers; explore
the wider area on an open-top bus with the Original Tour; or experience
both road and river with Windsor Duck Tours. Ask at the Royal Windsor
Information Centre for more details or book online at tickets.windsor.gov.uk.

beautiful Windsor Great Park with the statue of the Copper Horse in the
distance. Those who walk the 2.65 miles to get there will be rewarded with a
stunning view of Windsor and its castle when they look back.
Windsor Castle will reopen on 13 October and you’ll be able to see the
fabulous State Apartments, and St George’s Chapel where Princess Eugenie
and Jack Brooksbank were married.

Missing people
All groups and families are advised to pick a meeting point at the start of
the day, so that if you become separated you can easily locate each other.
Parents accompanying young children to the wedding are also advised to
take a picture of their child at the start of the day. This will mean you have
an up-to-date photo showing clearly what they are wearing, which can be
used to help locate them, should you become separated.
If you become separated from your group on the day or if you believe a
member of your party has gone missing, please contact an ambassador
or police officer who will be able to help.

12
Policing the day
To ensure the day remains safe and secure for everyone, there are a
broad range of visible security measures in place, along with many others
that you can’t see.
We want you to enjoy the celebrations but most importantly stay safe,
so please take notice of the security information provided to you by our
officers, the Royal Borough Windsor & Maidenhead community wardens
and ambassadors.
You may have already seen some of our officers, armed and unarmed, on
your journey here and you will see many more throughout the town, as
well as our search dogs and mounted section. Please be reassured and
not alarmed by this.
As the wedding is taking place on a working day, there will be a large
number of people in the town, so please help us to keep Windsor moving
by co-operating with security measures if you are asked, and most
importantly, remain vigilant.
If you see anything that looks unusual or suspicious, please report it to a
police officer, community warden or ambassador.
To keep updated throughout the day follow us @ThamesVP on Facebook
and @TVP_Windsor on Twitter.

                                                                              13

ambassadors or police officers who are there to help should you need any
assistance.
Ambassadors will be easily identifiable with branded red polo shirts and
baseball caps.
