 Experiential Careers Program

In terms of the gain for me personally, this experience
has cemented the benefit of careers knowledge for staff
and students. The quality of experiences and connections
ensured that each experience provided a valuable and
accurate insight into a variety of roles/careers in that
area. Further, the breadth of areas covered captured an
eye opening perspective on the incredible opportunities
available in our world. The pace and variety of experiences
cannot help but energise a passion for life and endless
opportunity. It helps instil a hope filled view of our world

Experiential Careers Program

Thank you!
A big thank you to our employer partners and our pioneering
teacher participants.

What next?
This is an immersive career-related learning experience and places are strictly limited to
ensure we deliver a high-quality experience for every student taking part. Our commitment to
our employer partners is that we will connect with outstanding young Australians so there is a
selection process to make sure we deliver on that promise. There are only 10 places available
to each participant school and each school will run their own selection process to identify
motivated candidates that will embrace this opportunity and ensure that our employer partners
get to engage with future high performing talent. This is a program where students will be
challenged and expected to participate fully in all four stages of the three month experience to
make the most out of the investment. This program is not for everyone.

Student Selection and School Booking Process
Student Horizons issues letters of invite, coupled with student application forms and a
1 teacher’s guide for selection by the 11th June.

Schools run their selection process and select 10 students. The application process
2 will involve interested students answering three questions, explaining why they would
like to participate, what value they feel they will add to their teams project work in the
program and demonstrate their past experience in successfully working in teams, solving
problems and utilising a 21st century skill set.

        • Friday 25th June 2021 – deadline for students to submit their application form to the school.
        • Friday 16th July 2021 – school completes review of applications and notifies Student
          Horizons of participants.
        • Monday 19th July 2021 – Student Horizons starts to communicate with successful students.
        • Wednesday 21st July 2021 – The Program’s Online Module is accessible for students
          and teachers.

Schools confirm their student teams place on the inaugural program with a 1st payment
3 of $550 per student by the 16th July

Please note: a minimum of 60 students and a maximum of 70 students will participate in the 3
month inaugural program between the 21st July – 21st October 2021.
