Devotion Thought
This is my favourite bible passage as it speaks to me in so many
Beautiful Artwork for LORDS
ways. Act justly… we are called to be servants in our world and
to ensure that peace and justice is at the forefront of how we
live in community. Love mercy… we need to be peacemakers in
all that we do and when dealing with conflict we need to focus
on restoration, forgiveness and reconciliation. Walk humbly…
living a life of reflection in relationship with God, yourself and
others is what I call ‘keeping it real’. It helps us to keep life in
perspective and to understand ‘that it is not all about me’ but
rather ‘it’s about what God does through me to serve others.’
It is my prayer that these powerful words…justice, mercy and
humility remain in our hearts and minds as we live our lives
together in community.
It was a very special day at our P-6 assembly last week.
Daley Thompson, local indigenous artist, presented the
LORDS Community with a very special piece of art work he
created for us ! We’ve included the story of what this piece
of art work means in this post. We are so grateful to have
this painting as part of the LORDS story. Thanks Daley for
your inspiring work.
COMMUNITY INNOVATORS DAY & BOP INDUSTRIES

The LORDS Voice Page 2YEAR 3 AND VCOP
This year we have introduced the VCOP program, which aims to
increase writing standards for student across the school. Every
couple of weeks the students focus on one area of writing.
This week they are exploring the use of connectives to help
add detail and interest to their writing. Today 3A got a surprise
visit from Connie Connective who was on the lookout for some
excellent connective words. We love that our teachers go the
extra mile to make the learning in our classrooms fun and
engaging!

LITTLE WONDERS
Our Kindy friends, Cooper and Abby worked hard to create
these beautiful 3D Butterflies at Kindy. First the children did
a butterfly painting by putting blobs of paint on one side of
the paper and then folding it together. Next they had a go at
writing their name and the word ‘butterfly’ on the back and
lastly, they stuffed it full of scrunched up recycled paper and
stapled it closed. The butterflies are hanging from our ceiling
at Kindy and are filling our room with cheery colour.

LAP IT UP RUNNERS
Students turned out in large numbers to run laps at our LORDS
Lap it up Challenge. Although it was a little wet under foot,
the students put in an amazing effort with some only km’s off
receiving their bronze badge.
As we head into the cooler months along with all the wet
mornings we have been having of late, it would be a good idea
for students to pack a change of socks and shoes for running
club.
