  Instructions

1. Locks not raised

  Effective: 20FEB18
Locks not being raised in compartments 1-4 is an ongoing issue. In January ’18 alone 18 reports were within the
airlines reporting systems regarding this topic.
Incomplete load securing poses a serious threat to the safety of the flight as it may lead to inflight load
  shifts!
We therefore emphasise again the need to strictly follow the handling procedures and always check if load is
secured properly and all locks at NIL positions are set correctly.

2. New SOCA Template

  Effective: 01MAR18
Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines will publish a new SOCA-Template on 01 March 2018 to further harmonize ground
operation documentation and create more transparency in regards to cargo relevant processes at the station.
  Publication
The new SOCA-template can be found in the Intranet from 01. March 2018 under:
 DLH: Ground Aircraft & Cargo Processes Hub Airlines FRA HG/A > Forms and Patterns
       AUA: GH Library

  Cutover & Responsibility
The new template will be mandatory for all new/initial SOCAs from 01 March 2018. If you already have a SOCA in
place, please make sure to switch from the current SOCA template to the new one until the beginning of the winter
  schedule (28 October 2018).
The Station Manager is responsible for the initial completion of the new SOCA-template. The responsibility for all
further reviews and updates shall be equally shared between the passage and cargo station responsible.
  Documentation
Further instructions how to fill out the template and how to file the agreement in SOCD are documented in SAM
4.2.4 Agreement between Cargo Handling and Station Operations (will be updated with the GOM revision on 3
April 2018) for DLH and SAMI 3 SOCA for AUA.

                                                                                                                       3/7

3. Renaming of Cargo and Mail Documents Case
  Effective: 01MAR18
In order to align with Lufthansa, Austrian has renamed the cargo and mail documents case into cargo and mail
  documents box.
See AHM Vol 1, chapter 5.7.

4. Handling of Cargo and Mail Documents on DH8
  Effective: 01MAR18
With effect of 1st March, the cargo and mail documents on our Dash fleet should no longer be handed over to the
crew. They must be placed in the orange cargo documents box in compartment 6.
For further details refer to AHM Vol 1, chapter 5.7.

5. CLC Interface Sheet – Reminder
  Effective: 01MAR18
Whenever Load Control is performed for a 'remote' station by Centralized Load Control Centers (CLC) the
  Responsible Manager shall:
 establish and agree with CLC about the contents of the CLC Interface Sheet and
 upload the signed document to your SOCD (the same applies for all station specific documents like e.g.
        LAP, SOCA).

The template can be found on the Ground Handling Library via following path:
 “Manuals & Guidelines” – “Aircraft & Cargo Handling” – “Centralized Load Control Standards (CLC)”

Next steps (in case this has not been done already):
 Get the acknowledgement and signatures of your local handling partners
 Sign it (SM) and send a copy (scan) to CLC edpcoo@viennaairport.com (until 31APR18)
 Upload the signed document to your SOCD station attachments

6. CLC App on Lufthansa iPADs available
  Effective: 20FEB18
The OS CLC Mach2 app is now available on the LH-iPADs. Now you have
direct access to the CLC-system, login via web browser is not necessary
anymore, but still working. Communication with CLC should be via MACH2
  only.

                                                                                                                    4/7

7. Fuelling with Pax: Regulations during boarding
  Effective: 20FEB18
With the latest GOM revisions major changes were applied to GHP 12.5 Fuelling or Defuelling. These changes
reflect new requirements from IATA and it is important that all handling staff do understand the implication of these
  changes.
  Fuelling Safety Zone
One of the major changes has been the introduction of the so called Fuelling Safety Zone in GHP 12.5.2. The
change implements a safety zone of a 3 meters in any direction from the centre-point (Radius) of all fuel vents,
refuelling plugs, aircraft refuelling ports, fuel hydrants, fuel hoses and fuelling vehicles. Special precautions have to
be taken inside this zone. Please refer to GHP 12.5.2 and strictly follow the instructions.

  Fuelling with Crew on Board
In addition to the already known limitations for fueling with passengers on board, new requirements were introduced
for fuelling with flight crews on board as well. However these limitations are less strict and mainly focused on
communication tasks between the qualified person supervising the fuelling process and the flight crew. It is now
always necessary to establish a two-way communication with the flight crew before the fuelling starts. Please make
yourselves familiar with the changes in GHP 12.5.5.
  Fuelling with Passengers Boarding
In case fuelling is still ongoing during the passenger boarding process it is now necessary to always avoid
congestions in passenger jetways and in front of the aircraft doors during boarding, regardless of the aircraft type.
No distinction is made anymore between narrow and wide body aircraft.

8. iOS Update on PDA@OPS devices
  Effective: 20FEB18
Due to IT security reasons the PDA@OPS devices should always be up-to-date. Through software updates, not
only security fixes are implemented but also the system stability and operating reliability of the devices are
  improved.
Apparently there are still over 100 devices at the stations that have an iOS version below 11.x. As outdated iOS
versions represent a security gap, please install the latest iOS updates regularly. Please be aware that a WiFi
connection is needed to install these updates.
The installation of iOS updates should only be done once the IT department has tested and approved them. It is
therefore recommended to generally wait a few weeks after publication of an iOS update. Experience from earlier
updates show that especially major updates bring some issues in the first release and bug fixes will follow quite
  soon.
Please also take some more minutes to check if the newest Airwatch Apps are installed on your devices. By clicking
on “LH-Catalog” you will find the Airwatch MDM Agent and Airwatch Browser App including version status (current
version should be 5.6 for the Agent and 6.6 for the Browser). If these versions are not installed yet please initiate the
installation. This will take approx. 5 to 15 minutes but will optimize the accessibility and performance of the devices.
In this short period of installation the Airwatch Browser does not work.
Further, also ensure that also spare devices or devices used for seasonal operation etc. are regularly updated. For
this, switch on all devices at least once a month and establish a WiFi connection to ensure iOS and App updates
  are downloaded.

                                                                                                                         5/7

 9. New FLOAT access and FLOAT Backup System link
   Effective: 20FEB18
   New FLOAT Backup System
A new FLOAT Backup System has been implemented and is to be used with immediate effect. The new system
now also provides a 2 step download and printing functionality for ILOS COC and briefing documents. In case of
using FLOAT backup it is mandatory to print out ILOS COC and briefing documents.

Please change all your FLOAT Backup System bookmarks to the following link to ensure continuing access!

 New link to the FLOAT Backup System, to be used from now on:
      https://www.lido-brf.net/LHBriefingFallback

The new FLOAT Backup System requires setting a new password for the FLOAT Backup System. All passwords
used so far become unusable with the new Backup System.

Please use the FLOAT Backup Password menu to set a new password!

With the new FLOAT Backup System newly set or changed passwords will take effect immediately without the need
   to wait 1 day.
   Schedule
The old FLOAT Backup System will be available in parallel to the new links until 01.04.2018.

10. CLH Bulletin: Pushback Communication
   Effective: 20FEB18
How little words might lead to big damage: A push back was performed with
parking brake set. Both nose landing gear and tow bar were damaged.
Always be aware: Use your job cards with correct wording for ground-to-
cockpit communication! Procedures described in GHP 12.11 and 12.2
You can find the respective CLH Bulletin in the attachment to this Directive.
If any queries arise please contact CLH Operations Desk:

11. AHI 10-2018 no longer applicable
   Effective: 20FEB18
Please be aware that the AHI 10-2018 "Embargo for UN 3528 engine / machinery, flammable liquid powered on all
passenger flights to / from / via USA lifted" is not applicable anymore due to the fact that the GOM was amended
accordingly with the last update (effective date: 15FEB18).

                                                                                                                    6/7

12. Ordering of Loading Accessories
   Effective: 20FEB18
Please remind all affected staff, to place any loading accessories orders according to the contacts stated in our,
AHM General Part, chapter 4.6. Collective orders are not possible due to different suppliers for the items.

13. LX Altéa FM: B777-300ER Autoload
   Effective: 20FEB18
Autoload as such is quite complex and for the 777 in particular. Even though Amadeus is working on improving
Autoload functionalities not all use cases can be covered. Full width ULDs such as PLA/PLB unfortunately usually
cause problems in general while running autoload themes. As a result below error might be returned:

To avoid getting this error and hence not receiving a distribution it is recommended to locate manually the full
width ULDs into a desired position before running autoload.

                                                                                                                        7/7
