Bata Shoe Museum
Why study shoes? Although feet are the same around the world, what people choose to
wear on their feet is incredibly diverse. It is in this diversity that some of the most interesting
aspects of culture are revealed. A field trip to the Bata Shoe Museum can enrich learning in GRADE
almost any subject area. We offer a variety of programs for grades JK-12 with links to many
strands within the Ontario Curriculum. Extend your visit with a 30 minute clog-painting Jr. Kindergarten to 12

THE ELGIN AND WINTER GARDEN THEATRE CENTRE TOUR
Year-round guided tours of this National Historic Site
This 90 minute tour is offered year-round and will recount the history and restoration of the
last operating double-decker theatre in the world. Visit the original lobbies, the elegant Elgin GRADE
Theatre, the whimisical Winter Garden and see samples of the world’s largest collection of
Vaudeville-era scenery. As well visit the backstage exhibit housing an original Simplex Silent 7 to 12

School bands and choirs can showcase their talent in one of our three venues in front of a
professional musician who will adjudicate their performance! Comments will be recorded

self-guided tour of caves, caverns and crevasses. Study the geological features carved millions of
years ago by glacial ice. Examine the rare flora, fauna and undergrowth. Discover the mysterious

NORDIC CENTRE
When the temperature drops, connect to the great outdoors for the coolest learning
adventures. Uniquely located high atop the mountain on 370 acres of the Niagara Escarpment,
the Nordic Centre is situated in a designated UNESCO biosphere reserve. Set in a 200 year old GRADE
forest of 100 foot tall maple, beech and oak trees, our winter wonderland offers an excellent 4 to 12 Plus
elevation for snow conditions and consistent temperatures.

Glide along 27 km. of cross country ski trails professionally groomed daily for both classic 10 Participants
