Bata Shoe Museum
Why study shoes? Although feet are the same around the world, what people choose to
wear on their feet is incredibly diverse. It is in this diversity that some of the most interesting
aspects of culture are revealed. A field trip to the Bata Shoe Museum can enrich learning in          GRADE
almost any subject area. We offer a variety of programs for grades JK-12 with links to many
strands within the Ontario Curriculum. Extend your visit with a 30 minute clog-painting               Jr. Kindergarten to 12

Year-round guided tours of this National Historic Site
This 90 minute tour is offered year-round and will recount the history and restoration of the
last operating double-decker theatre in the world. Visit the original lobbies, the elegant Elgin      GRADE
Theatre, the whimisical Winter Garden and see samples of the world’s largest collection of
Vaudeville-era scenery. As well visit the backstage exhibit housing an original Simplex Silent        7 to 12

Put STEM programming into action and give your students a lesson they’ll never forget!
Designed by Vanessa Moniz (B.Ed., B.A. and Brent Wettlaufer (B.Sc., Physics) - our hands-
on programs meet current Ontario teaching curriculum standards and can be assigned for

download the workbooks and activities once they book their trip. These can be edited to suit     4-12

School bands and choirs can showcase their talent in one of our three venues in front of a
professional musician who will adjudicate their performance! Comments will be recorded
onto CD throughout the performance, for the group to review once the performance is              GRADE
over. An appreciation plaque will also be provided to display in the music room. After their
performance, the group may spend the rest of the day in the park. We allow a 30 minute           Kindergarten to 12
