The competitions of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games
     Barranquilla 2018 will be carried out according to CACSO’s Statute and

     Only the NOCs recognized by CACSO, whose national athletics federati-
     ons are affiliated to the International Association of Athletics Federations
     (IAAF) will be able to register athletes in the Athletics competition of the
     XXIII Central American and Caribbean Sports Games, Barranquilla 2018.
     If recognized by NACAC, associate members recognized by CACSO will
     also be able to participate.

     FINAL PARTICIPATION
     CONFIRMATION
     The final confirmation of participants will be made by the team lea-
     ders through the form that will be distributed to each delegation on
     arrival to the country at the Sports Information Center (SIC) of the
     Central American and Caribbean village and at the technical meeting.

     For events on the first day of the championship, team leaders or their
     representatives must confirm their athletes ’ participation until 12:00
     on the day before the event. Team leaders will be able to confirm all
     of their athletes ’ participations before the first day of competition.

STARTING CALLS
                        Starting calls will be given in English.

                        • For 400 m events the call will be: On yours marks, Set. (Starting shot)
                        • For 800 m or more events, the call will be: On yours marks (Starting

                        MEDAL CEREMONIES
                        Medal ceremonies will take place according to CACSO’s General
                        Regulations, Chapter XIII.

                        Doping control will be done according to CACSO’s Medical Com-
                        mission requirements, according to the corresponding International
                        Federation Regulation and will follow the 2018 version of standards of
                        the World Anti Doping Agency procedures (WADA).
