What a fantastic Mystery Trip!! Can you tell where we were going with these clues?

                            1. What you will see can be covered with a variety of seats.
                                    2. Maybe the music will turn you around.
                                         3. Is what you see real or not?
                                        4. There will be a sweet ending.

These were the clues that we gave out as we drove along to our destination for the day - “THE SKYROCK
FARM & CAROUSEL”. We were greeted by Bill and Stacy and welcomed with a cup of coffee or delicious lem-
onade. Bill started out with a tour of the beautiful hand-crafted pipe organs from all over the world and the
carved carousel along with many horses. The pipe organs ranged in size and each one had their own sound.
When you took a real close look at the artistry on these, it just took your breath away – they were so beauti-
ful. He cranked a few of them up and they were definitely made to attract attention, just about blew a few
of us out of our seats! He gave us a true history lesson about carousels. Did you know that all the carousel
horses are hollow (they are stronger that way) or that you can tell where the horse came from by the style of
carving and that the exquisite detail (gems, etc.) are only on the outside of the horse/animal on a carousel?
Bill has been collecting and refurbishing carousels and pipe organs for more than 25 years so he had a lot of
                                             knowledge to impart.

After we were done with this part of the tour, we sat down to the most delicious homemade meal where
the flavors melted in your mouth. There were definitely no complaints about that.

Our next adventure at the Skyrock Farm had us headed through the horse barns. We were able to pet a
lot of the beautiful horses and were then seated in the arena. Bill and Stacy told us about how they go about
training the horses for jumping and shared their love of horses with us. Watching these wonderful horses
jump the rails was incredible and so graceful! Each time they raised the rails and made the jumps, the gasps
and clapping got a bit louder.

To end the day at the farm, everyone took turns on a miniature train ride around the grounds. It was so
fun watching everyone slip back into being a child as they waived to the rest of us watching. The smiles on
their faces were priceless! As much as everyone hated to leave, we had yet another adventure ahead of us.

The bus stopped at Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store in Jordan – “the big yellow barn”. Wow - what a
place! Candy, pies, apples, pasta, salsa, jams and the list goes on and on. If you couldn’t find anything you
liked there you definitely do not have very good taste buds.

Mystery Trip 2018 was a unique trip and definitely fun. Comments from our travelers sum it up best. “Best
Mystery Trip Ever” - but this one says it all - “Loved this trip…Bill Nunn was a perfect host! He shared his passion
from beginning to end of Skyrock Farm. Fascinating info about music, art and the history of carousels. Beautiful
horses and Stacy sharing her love of jumping with horses. Watching the 2 horses jump was more than awesome!!
Topping it off with Bill’s miniature train ride was too fun. All the food was excellent. A relaxing day - never felt
rushed and we saw and experienced so much!”

DID YOU KNOW?

Meditation is said to control anxiety, enhance the immune system, relieve chronic pain and reduce high blood pres-
sure and substance abuse. Simply devoting 10 or 15 minutes each day to meditation and deep breathing can help you
to overcome stress and pain, and find some inner peace.

RELAXATION FOR THE MIND AND BODY

Meditation allows you to calm your mind by focusing on the here and now. In a meditative mental state, your mind
becomes clear of cluttered thoughts and traumatic memories. Three common forms of meditation are:
         • Concentrative: You focus your attention on a single sound or object. Then, you breathe slowly to bring about
a calm, tranquil mind.
         • Mindful: You keep your mind aware of things around you but you do not react to sensations, feelings or im-
ages.
         • Transcendental: You place your body at full rest but keep your mind alert of what is going on around you.
This brings about a deep state of relaxation.

During the meditative process and as a stand-alone relaxation tool, breathing is an effective self-help technique. In
fact, mentally adjusting your breathing can benefit your health and sense of well-being. Deep breathing – from your
abdomen –increases oxygen intake, lung capacity, energy levels and speeds up the healing process.
