- Reading with your child will enable them to increase their communication and
comprehension skills. Choose a favourite book to read; try to sound out some
 key sounds and words.
- Practice your pencil control. Here is a link to Twinkl containing lots of useful
pencil control sheets. https://www.twinkl.co.uk/search. You could make this
easier by tracing vertical and horizontal lines in mark making trays using rice,
cornflour, icing sugar, hot chocolate or any other dry foods you have! You could
make this harder by tracing key words relating to the topic or having a go at
writing them yourself. You could make this more challenging by tracing the key
word cards below then trying to write them yourself. Remember you can always
practice your handwriting on the internet. Here are some links to games to help
 you practice: Sky Writer game

International Space Station?). You could make this easier by finding pictures to
answer the questions. You could make this harder by creating a short summary
of the book or retelling the story to another person using your own words and
 the commenting chart above.

- Practice making and identifying groups of 1 and lots. If an adult makes
groups, can you correctly match the symbols to the groups? You could make
this harder by making 2 groups of objects and identifying which group has
more and less. Count the objects to check you are right. Try using different
objects in your groups. Can you correctly identify which has more and less? If
you are confident identifying which groups have more or less, make 5 groups
of objects and identify which group has the most and least objects. What is
 the difference between each group?

- Practice putting an object in and on and under container when asked. You
could make this harder by describing where another person has placed the
object. If you are confident placing objects in, on and under, complete the
 fast and slow worksheet below.

to the volcano. You could make this harder by predicting what you think will
happen and writing it on the prediction sheet.
For the eruption, you will need:
 • 10 ml of dish soap
 • 100 ml of cold water
 • 400 ml of white vinegar
 • Food colouring
 • Baking soda slurry (fill a cup about ½ with baking soda, then fill the rest of the
 way with water)

Method: Please do this outside, as it will make some mess!
 • Combine the vinegar, water, dish soap and 2 drops of food colouring into the
 bottle inside your volcano
 • Use a spoon to mix the baking soda slurry until it is all a liquid.
