“By all these lovely tokens September days are here, with summer’s best of weather and autumn’s best of cheer.”
~ Helen Hunt Jackson

Dear Friends,

The beauty of September is here and conveys a sense of new beginnings. September’s arrival is the beginning of new
activities while old favorites resume. All our daily activities and lunches are currently back in full swing. Whether you
participate in fitness classes, wellness programs, social activities, life-long learning, or volunteerism, Senior Centers
like Beechwood, are resources for wellness, intellectual growth, creative expression, fun with friends, and
information on aging. We are the future of what aging can be! Our newsletter gives you detailed descriptions of our
current offerings.

Stop by for a coffee, join a program or make a reservation for lunch. If it’s your first time visiting, please introduce
yourself to our staff. We look forward to seeing you!

continued outreach to the community, and all functions to keep Beechwood efficiently running during a long and
challenging year. Our wishes for a happy and healthy return to everyone.

purchase of the $2.50 reusable Community Bag at the Stop & Shop store located at 90 Frenchtown Road, North

                                         Special Announcement
Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15 through December 7, 2021

This is the time to review your current plan and compare it to the new plans for 2022. You have probably received notices
with information about any changes to your coverage for the coming year. It is important to read and understand these
notices, so that you can decide if your coverage will continue to meet your needs or if you should change it.

Each year insurance companies are able to change their formularies and premium costs. Although a Prescription Drug Plan
(PDP) may cover your medications in 2021, the same plan may not cover the same medications in 2022. It is beneficial to
review your plan every year. On Monday, October 4, 2021, our Social Services Department will begin making appointments
to review the new 2022 Prescription Drug Plans. If you have access to a computer, you may review the new plans at the “Find
Health and Drug Plans” at www.medicare.gov. If you would like more information or to make an appointment, please call the
Social Services office at Beechwood, 268-1579.
