              Beef cattle will be released at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29.

              PLEASE NOTE: With proper documentation of entry at another major
              state fair, an exhibitor may petition for early release. The request must be
              made to Entry Department and will not be granted until verified by state
              fair or livestock show.

              All bedding must be provided by exhibitor. This may be brought from
              home or purchased at fair from the official state vendor. No bulk sawdust,
              tan bark or shavings permitted. Only baled or bagged bedding allowed.

                                    ENTRY DEADLINE: JULY 10

              1.   Entries can be made through our online system at www.kystatefair.
                   org. Complete information must be provided.      ENTER EACH
                   ANIMAL IN THE NAME OF THE BONA FIDE OWNER, giving
                   the registered name and number and date of birth of the animal.
                   GROUP CLASS ENTRIES WILL BE MADE at time of check-in.

2.   Beef animals owned in partnership or by syndicate may be shown
     in the name of the partnership or syndicate only; except that at the
     time of entry a determination will be made that such animals will be
     shown in the name of one partner or syndicate member. Animals must
     be shown the same way in group classes as they are in open single
     classes.

                                                                                    Beef Cattle
3.   An entry fee of $25.00 per head will be charged for all entries
     submitted by July 10th. Entry fees do not dictate stall space.
     Exhibitors will receive one stall for each animal delivered to the Fair,
     regardless of the number of entries made. (A stall is one tie space.
     There are three tie spaces per bay.) Grooming will not be allowed in
     aisles. Additional tack stalls NOT available for purchase. Space for
     tack and display is subject to availability. NO REFUNDS OF
     FEES WILL BE MADE.
     LATE ENTRIES: An entry fee of $50 per head will be charged for
     all entries submitted after July 10. Late entries must be submitted
     by midnight on July 25. Late entries will be accepted for the open
     show only. No late entries will be accepted in the 4-H/FFA Youth
     Livestock Show.
     EXTRA LATE ENTRIES: Entry Fees of $100 per head will be
     charged. Extra late entries must be submitted by midnight on August 3.

4.   Beef animals must have registration papers in the owner’s name or
     a photocopy of valid papers in process for registration or transfer (to
     be collected by the Superintendent and forwarded to the appropriate
     Association) to be eligible to show. Each exhibitor will be required
     to present certificates of registration for his entries when called upon
     by the superintendent. No animal will be checked in without this
     identification.

5.   SUBSTITUTIONS will be accepted for animals in the same class
     only. Substitutions can be made only in the name of the original
     exhibitor-owner as listed on the entry form. In breed shows without
     defined classes, substitutions can be made only with an animal of the
     same sex and a birth date within 90 days of the original entry.

6.   All entries must be animals recorded in the American Herd Books for
     the particular breed to which they belong.

7.   No transfer of ownership of an animal will be made later than one hour
     prior to the beginning of the show. Please check your Association’s
     rules as some require transfers to be on file by entry closing date.

8.   All livestock entries should be brought through Gate 4 off Crittenden
     Drive. To eliminate undue congestion and confusion, trucks will be
     allowed in livestock wing only between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

9.   No bull over one year of age will be allowed on the grounds without a
     lead ring in his nose.

10. When on exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter, and
                  in the charge of the owner or exhibitor.

              11. All exhibitors are limited to two ribbons and two premiums in each
                  class.

                   New for 2021: Premiums will be determined after the show and
                   shall be awarded on a graduated basis to the animals exhibited

                   after the conclusion of the show. Based on these numbers, not all
                   premium support provided may be used.

              12. All exhibitors in the Beef Cattle Show will be required to show their
                  cattle at the call of the Superintendent. Failure to comply with this
                  request will result in premiums being withheld until satisfactory
                  explanation of same can be made.

              13. See General Rules for health regulations, protests and other information.

              14. KY law prohibits tents with roofs. Tents or sleeping areas
                  without tops are permitted if made of fire retardant material per
                  requirement of the state fire code Section 13.3.2.6.1 and State Fire
                  Marshall.

              15. New for 2021: Cooking is prohibited in the livestock building at the
                  Kentucky Exposition Center. Per State Fire Marshal recommendation
                  referencing NFPA 150 Chapter 9.12.1.4 “Portable cooking equipment
                  shall be used only in spaces designed for use and separated from the
                  animal housing facility.”

              16. No butt fans or misters will be allowed in the aisles. Fans must be
                  placed overhead within the stall area. Also, no portable generators are
                  allowed in the building.

              17. The Fair will provide large, portable containers for the disposal of
                  manure and trash. No bedding or manure is to be heaped in the area at
                  any time. It must be put into the above container, and will be removed
                  when full and replaced by another receptacle.

              In compliance with recommendations of national breed associations, nurse
              cows will not be permitted at the Kentucky State Fair.

                                          Tie-Out Time
              Since our livestock wing is air conditioned, animals will be ready for
              viewing by the public by 8:00 a.m. each day and remain in the wing, except
              when showing, until tie-out time which will not be earlier than 7:00 p.m.

In order to create a good public image and add to the attractiveness
of the livestock area, all beds, cots, bedding, etc., must be made up and
out of aisles by 8:00 a.m. each morning. This rule will be enforced by
management and will also reflect in Herdsman Award judging.

              The American Angus Association, 3201 Frederick Avenue, St. Joseph,
              Missouri, will participate in premiums offered for open class Angus breeding
              cattle classes according to the premium schedule based on the number of head
              shown. The premium assistance provided by the American Angus Association
              for participation in this show is in addition to the premiums offered by the
              show itself. The premium assistance should not be used to offset show expense
              and shall be included in the premium payments distributed by the show to the
              exhibitors.
              A minimum of 50 head must be shown in the Open Class Division to receive
              American Angus Association premium participation for the following year.
              Premiums from the Association are paid only to registered angus cattle and only
              if the registration number is a part of the show report provided to the association.
              Therefore, all cattle should be registered at the time of entry to make certain they
              receive the Association’s portion of premiums. The Association does not pay on
              Championship or any group classes (i.e., get-of-sire, junior get-of-sire or breeder
              six-head).
              Exhibitors must have the original registration certificate issued by the
              American Angus Association available for inspection at the show for each
              animal or another current proof of ownership issued by the American
              Angus Association pedigree look up.
              Any animal upon check-in which does not have a legible permanent
              identification mark (ear tattoo marks, freeze-branded marks or hot-branded
              marks) corresponding to the permanent identification mark on the registration
              certificate, is ineligible to show. Once disqualified due to an incorrect or
              illegible permanent identification mark, animals cannot be re-tattooed and
              rechecked at the show.
              Any female shown with a calf at side, the calf must be the cow’s most
              recent natural calf and the calf must be registered by show date and have
              the original registration certificate at check-in.
              Only one person at a time will lead animals into the show ring.
              Exhibitors who participate in shows that accept premium monies contributed
              by the American Angus Association are subject to the Association Rules as
              found in the Breeders Reference Guide of the Association. These rules are
              found in Part 2 Association Rules. The rules relating directly to the exhibition
              of Angus cattle are Part 2: Association Rules; Rule 800 Series; including Rule

800-811. These rules can be found at www.angus.org.
Altering the conformation and/or appearance of an animal for exhibition is
prohibited. This includes the use of chin straps, covering of white skin, false
tail heads (or use of any false hair) with the exception of false tail switches, the
use of graphite, powders, hemp or other similar substances used externally are
also prohibited, other prohibted products include those used internally such as,
steroids, illegal or unlicensed pharmaceuticals or artificial filling. Any animal
found to be in violation will be barred from showing.

At any show for which the American Angus Association appropriates
funds toward the payment of premiums, no exhibitors, individuals assisting
exhibitors or member owners at such show shall be allowed to use any
coloring agents on any animal exhibited. The association may adopt and
implement various tests designed to monitor this prohibition, including but
not limited to a “white towel” or “white glove” test. No aerosol cans or
other pressurized containers will be allowed in designated make up areas.
All animals exhibited are subject to DNA marker or blood type test to
verify accuracy of parentage as covered under the Association Rules
and for other testing as required by the individual show.
Authorized representatives of the Association have the authority to
enforce the rules set forth herein as well as in the Association Rules,
including the barring of a registered animal from a livestock show at
which it is to be shown, if there are reasonable grounds to believe a
violation has occurred.
Premium participation is based on previous year’s number of head shown.
Only registered Angus cattle that meet the age requirements listed within
this classification are eligible to receive premium participation and be
counted in the total number of head shown. Champion and Reserve
Champion placings are not counted in number of head shown.
            KY Classes open to Kentucky Exhibitors only.
Cattle eligible for KY classes must be Kentucky owned or co-owned.

PREMIUMS: First place will receive $75 in each individual open class
and $30 in each Ky. class. The remainder of the premium money will be
awarded on a graduated basis among the other animals after the show.

Any classes listed in this classification, which exceed 15 head per class,
should be broken into smaller classes. The class breaks will be at the
discretion of the American Angus Association staff in attendance.

PREMIER EXHIBITOR and PREMIER BREEDER will receive banners,
courtesy of the Kentucky Angus Association. Awards open to Kentucky
Exhibitors only.

Breeder Six Head: The exhibitor of the breeders six head must be breeder
and first owner, identified by the same member code for the animals exhibited.
Cattle owned by other exhibitors may be included provided the exhibitor of
the breeders six head is the breeder and first owner of the included animal(s).
Animals must be exhibited in individual classes. Cattle bred and owned by a
junior member(s) may be included if the exhibitor of the breeders six head is

              Premiums will be awarded on a graduated basis among the animals after the
              show. Premiums will be paid to the winners by the Fair, amount offered by
              Kentucky Charolais Association included.

                                                     Special Rules
              All animals to be eligible for an Open Charolais Breeding Class must be
              purebred and registered with AICA. Only Bona Fide (original) certificates
              of registration will be accepted as evidence of registration and ownership;
              NO PHOTOCOPIES.
              Animals registered in the AICA Colored Division Registry (QF and QM
              initialed registration numbers) must meet the parameters of the AICA Color
              Card.
              An animal is eligible to enter or compete in an open Charolais breeding
              class if registered in country of origin outside the United States and is
              eligible for purebred registry in the AICA Herdbook.
              All animals to be eligible may be approved by a sifting committee
              designated by the AICA. Stall space will not be provided for any Charolais
              cattle that have not been accepted by the sifting committee.
              All animals are subject to a medical examination in order to determine
              age and each animal will be presented in the show ring in its natural
              conformation without alteration or modification. Use of artificial tailheads
              is not permitted.
              Any animal not having a legible tattoo or firebrand number is ineligible and
              will be barred from showing.
              Bulls from Classes 36, 37, 40, 41 & 42 must have a valid, satisfactory
              semen test certificate in possession. This certificate is valid for the entire
              show season.
              All animals shown in individual classes must be weaned, with the
              exception of the cow/calf class and calves at the side of females calved after
              September 1, 2019. Calves must be purebred and registered with the AICA.
              Females calved after September 1, 2019 must show in individual female
              class appropriate to age. Nurse cows are not permitted.

All females 20 months and older exhibited at AICA-sanctioned shows must
be accompanied by a certificate of pregnancy from a licensed veterinarian
or have produced fertile eggs as certified in a written statement by a
licensed veterinarian or embryologist or have a calf at side.
AICA requires that all animals must be shown in halter and suggests that
all bulls be shown with a nose lead.

                                                                                Beef Cattle
All exhibits of Charolais Breeding Cattle shall be Governed by the
American-International Charolais Association rules and regulations,
Article XV, Titled Exhibition of Animals. The inspection of Exhibit
cattle is specified in Article XV, Paragraph C, of the Association rules
and regulations and non-compliance of exhibit inspection is specified in
paragraph D of the same Article XV.
ARTICLE XV, PARAGRAPH B, POINT 2: “Each animal will be
presented in its natural conformation and structure without alteration
or modification. Alteration or modification shall be defined to include
any surgical, chemical, electrical or other (including banding or other
circulatory constriction) appearance change for cosmetic purpose, save
only branding, tattooing, foot trimming or dehorning. The act of artificially
filling animals internally, which would include stomach pumping, drench
tubes, or any other method per os (by esophagus) is prohibited. Silicone
injection or other injection for cosmetic purpose shall be prohibited.
Anabolic steroid use shall likewise be prohibited and any animal testing
positive for anabolic steroid or diuretic use shall be presumed to be altered
and modified.”
All rules of show apply.
Effective October 22, 2004, at any American-International Charolais
Association (AICA) sanctioned show (including shows receiving AICA
premium funding and/or qualifying as a Roll of Excellence Show), the use
of a coloring agent, flock and powder is prohibited. Use of these products
will result in the immediate disqualification of a given animal at such show.

              2.     All animals exhibited must be recorded in the name of the exhibitor.
                     A copy of the registration paper or an affidavit of registration must
                     accompany each entry to the show. Percentage and purebred Gelbvieh
                     females seventy-five (75%) percent to one hundred (100%) percent
                     will show together. Percentage, purebred and full blood Gelbvieh
                     bulls seventy-five (75%) percent to one hundred (100%) percent
                     will show together. For eligibility in the Balancer Show an animal
                     must have a combination of 25% to 75% Gelbvieh and 25% to 75%
                     Angus or Red Angus with a maximum of 12.5% unknown or other
                     breed and the sire or dam must be recorded by the AGA, American
                     Angus Association, or the Red Angus Association of America. A 75%
                     Gelbvieh that qualifies to show in both the Gelbvieh or Balancer show
                     must choose which breed the animal will be entered into at time of
                     entry. An animal cannot show in both shows.

              3.     Cattle must be entered and exhibited under the recorded ownership at
                     the time of the show entry deadline date. Jointly owned animals must
                     be entered and shown under the multi-ownership (all co-owners) in
                     the individual classes.

              4.     All cattle must meet the health requirements set out by the Show
                     Management. Any deviation from the health requirements will be
                     just cause for immediate disqualification from the show.

5.   Show committee prohibits the use of powders of any color. False
     tailheads and glued-on hair or hair-like substances are prohibited.

6.   All bulls over one year of age must show with a nose lead. The show
     committee reserves the right to disqualify from the show any animal
     deemed unmanageable.

7.   All females shown in cow/calf class with a calf over one hundred fifty
     (150) days of age must be bred back and must be accompanied by a
     verification of pregnancy signed by a licensed veterinarian. Exception
     to the rule of safe in calf will apply to a donor female that has
     produced fertile eggs in the previous twelve (12) months as verified in
     a written statement from a licensed veterinarian. Show management
     will be responsible for checking the papers.

8.   Age of calf at side in cow/calf class must not exceed two hundred forty
     (240) days as of date of the show.

9.   At the completion of the show, a show program with all class and
     division placings must be submitted to the AGA office within 60
     days after the show if an AGA staff member is not in attendance.
     If an AGA staff member is in attendance at the show, they will be
     responsible for getting the complete results submitted.

10. Classes will be split as evenly as possible after processing by the show
    management. Splits will be decided using total entries at processing.
    The divisions are standard for all Ring of Gold Shows. Classes will
    be split within those divisions.

PREMIUMS will be determined on a graduated basis among the animals

            any other substances. All animals subject to white towel test;
       b) the addition of any hair or hair like substances, including false
            tailheads and false polls (false tail switches are allowed);
       c) the cutting, tearing or gluing of the hide or underneath the hide or
            removal of tissue in an attempt to alter the shape of the animal or
            the injection of any gas, solid or liquid under the hide to alter the
            normal conformation;
       d) any products, solutions, liquids administered internally or externally
            to alter the conformation of the animal are prohibited. That includes
            the use of steroids, growth stimulants, and the act of artificially filling
            animals internally, which would include stomach pumping, drench
            tubes, or any other method.

EXCEPTIONS: In the case of severely sick or dehydrated animals, the
                   exhibitor may have fluids or electrolytes administered by the licensed
                   official show veterinarian with the approval of the show superintendent
                   and/or North American Limousin Foundation representative. This
                   exception is not applicable on show day or weigh-in/check-in day.

              6.   Bulls older then one (1) year must show with a nose-lead. The Limousin
                   show superintendent and the show management reserve the right to
                   disqualify animals deemed unmanageable.
Beef Cattle

              7.   All protests against exhibitors, individual animals or fitting violations of
                   show cattle must be submitted in writing and signed by five (5) active
                   members of the North American Limousin Foundation and presented to
                   the show superintendent within 12 hours after the completion of the show.

              8.   The North American Limousin Foundation reserves the right to mouth
                   animals for dental development at any show sponsored by the Foundation.

              9.   The North American Limousin Foundation reserves the right to collect
                   hair samples from any animal.

              10. Class size shall be at the discretion of the show superintendent but may not
                  contain more than 20 head. The classes may be split or combined within
                  their given division.

              11. Calves exhibited alongside dams in cow-calf division are eligible to show
                  as individuals.

              12. All animals shown must be solid red or black above the flanks, except
                  birth marks.

                              Other Requirements to Receive Points at
                             Level II Medal of Excellence (MOE) Events:
              The following performance-data-submission requirements must be met by
              Dec. 1 to receive MOE points:
              •    a)   Birthweight (Bulls & heifers)
              •    b)   Weaning Weight (Bulls & heifers)
              •    c)   Yearling Weight (Bulls & heifers)
              •    d)   Yearling Scrotal Circumference (Bulls only)
              •    e)   Pregnancy test (Females older than 600 days at season’s end)
              •    f)   Breeding soundness exam and semen test (Bulls older than 400
                        days)

              Note: Failure to have performance data on file at NALF by the deadline
              will result in disqualification from the MOE program, and no points will be
              awarded. It is the responsibility of the breeder/owner/exhibitor to submit that
              information without special requests from NALF.

              Credibility Requirement: To maintain a high degree of integrity and
              credibility in all Limousin shows, all owners and exhibitors are expected to
              adhere to all NALF rules and regulations regarding the exhibition of Limousin
              cattle and to adhere to rules and regulations of particular shows, fairs and
              exhibitions.

                                 Level II MOE Show Point Distribution
              The point distribution for MOE shows, as introduced in 2007, will depend on
              the number of head exhibited at each approved MOE show (other than the four
              major shows).
