Congratulations on purchasing your new BIOS System. We wish you a lot of fun and much success
working with it. Please check the contents for damage, operability, and completeness prior to taking
the system into operation.

Quick start guide

To turn on: Press TURN-ON/TURN-OFF-BUTTON until LEDs light up.

Programme selection: The desired programme is selected with the 1
ON/OFF-button. Programme level 1 (Pro. 1 - 5) luminous LEDs.

Remaining time: LED starts to light up 10 minutes before the end
of the programme and will start flashing for the last 5 minutes. 5

To turn off: The device will turn itself off after the end of the
programme. To turn the device off early, keep the ON/OFF-button
pressed for at least 3 seconds.

Applicator: The LED will flash red when defective or when the
applicator is not properly connected.

Accumulator: The colour of the LED indicates the state of charge
Green = 100%, yellow = 60%, red = 30%
Charging the control unit
Please turn the unit off before charging it. Please note:
Completely charge the device prior to first use! Charging an
empty accumulator takes approximately 2 hours. There are two
sockets located at the front side of the control unit to connect
the power supply and the applicator.
Plug the charger into a 240V outlet and then plug the small
circular connector of the plug-in power supply into the socket
located at the front side of the control unit. The plug-in power
supply is only intended for charging the accumulator. Please
disconnect the plug-in power supply from the control unit for
the duration of the application.
Turning the control unit on and
selecting different programmes
You EQUUSIR control unit comes factory equipped with 9 basic
programmes. In order to retrieve the programmes at the pulse
generator, please press the (on/off) button on the front side of
the control unit and hold the button until the unit indicates its
readiness by sounding a signal tone. The LED-display is now lit
permanently to indicate the „RELAXING“ programme.
By repeatedly pushing the (on/off) button, you can select your
desired programme.
After the “ACTIVATING” programme, the LED display reverts
back to the “Calming” programme and starts flashing. You
are in the second programme level. By pushing the (on/off)
button again, you can select the programmes from the second
programme level.
To connect the control unit to the applicator, insert the plug of
the applicator into the large socket located at the front side of
the control unit and close it.

Please note that the programme ACTIVATING will terminate
automatically after 10 hours and all other programmes of the
first programme level after 30 minutes. Within the second
programme level from “Calming” to “Vitalising”, programmes
will terminate after 3 hours.
To turn off the unit early, keep the on/off-button pushed down
until the end signal sounds and the lights go out.

BIOS SYSTEM
APPLICATION & CARE INSTRUCTIONS
1. DO NOT TWIST THE PLUGS
The plugs that connect the control unit and neck to the back section of the blanket must NOT be twisted!
On each plug is a white arrow and a white line. The plug section with the white arrow must be drawn back
before the connectors are brought together. Turning the plug will lead to breakage of the sensitive contacts.

CONNECT OPEN This is imperative
to avoid damage.

Disengage the plug with the arrow mark and let it click into place. This ensures that the plug connections do not disconnect and that the inlays cannot be damaged.

2. THE HORSE SHOULD BE TETHERED WHILST USING THE BLANKET
When using the BIOS blanket, it is important to ensure that the horse does not lie down or run freely in the paddock.
It is recommended that the horse is tethered during the treatment to make sure that the connections do not tear off
and that the inlays cannot be damaged.
3. THE INLAYS CANNOT GET WET
The BIOS blanket must not be used as a rain cover. Excessive moisture should be avoided as both the inlays and the control unit
can become damaged.
4. THE BIOS BLANKET SHOULD BE STORED IN A COOL DRY PLACE
Please note that you should keep the BIOS blanket in a dry room. Humidity and moisture can cause irreparable
damage to the control unit and inlays.
5. EXTREME TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS SHOULD BE AVOIDED
Please avoid extreme temperature fluctuations. Excessive heat (+35 degrees) and cold (from -10 degrees)
can damage the control unit. In the summer and winter months, we therefore recommend storing the control
unit separately, in a suitable location, such as a house or a heated tack room.
6. CLEANING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Before washing the BIOS blanket the inlays in the back and neck sections must be completely removed. Open the zipper
and remove the inlay as shown in the photo. The red cover can be washed at 30 degrees in a washing machine,
however, handwashing is generally recommended.
