This guide describes the principal rules which regulate the terms of the booking and
of the assignment of the accommodations dedicated to the Politecnico di Milano
students and gives information concerning the general check-in, check-out and refund
of the security deposit procedures.
All the students who book an accommodation in a Politecnico di Milano residence
or who result assignee of an accommodation as beneficiary of the DSU scholarship,
during the check-in will have to read and sign for acceptance the General Regulation
of the University residences currently in force, available at the following link:

2. REQUIREMENTS AND REGULATIONS
Requirements
To book or receive in assignment an accommodation in the Politecnico di Milano
residences, it is necessary to:
Be regularly enrolled at the AY 2020_21.
Be 18 years old or being to be 18 at the check-in date; otherwise the student must
be accompanied by one of his/her parents or by a legal guardian. The student will
have also show the release for under 18 people subscribed by his/her parents and
the copies of their ID documents.
Do not be in arrears with Politecnico di Milano or borrower of scholarship.
Regulations
It is important to remind that:
Guests cannot move their address of residence (residenza anagrafica) in the
university residence where they are temporary living.
Room changings as well as changings of residence are not allowed.
Possible guest’s absences lasting more than 48 h must be previously
communicated to the direction of the residence and don’t implies any deduction on
the due rent.
An early check-out does not any right to be refunded, except for the situations
described in the related chapter.
13. ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DSU STUDENTS
Terms of assignment
Students who apply to the DSU call can ask for and be beneficiary of an
accommodation in one of the Politecnico di Milano residences. The terms of
assignment both of the scholarship and of the accommodation are described in the
call available at the following link:

The accommodations are assigned yearly to all the beneficiary students in the
rankings for students enrolled “in the subsequent years” and in the “first years”:
following the waivers of the beneficiaries, for the scrolling of the rankings, we’ll go on
with the assignments to the eligible students subject to availability.
The accommodations which become available in the course of the year – due to
waivers or degrees – are assigned to the beneficiary or eligible DSU students who
are enrolling in the second semester or they will be bookable at full rent by the other
students.
ATTENTION
The acceptance of a DSU accommodation is definitive and unchanging; it means that
in any case it implies the full deduction of the cost of the accommodation from the
scholarship, also in case the student decides to not enter the residence or leave it
earlier.
After the acceptance, the DSU student has 30 days of time to make the check-in,
otherwise he misses the accommodation and the full deduction of the cost of the
accommodation from the scholarship will be applied.
Students assignee of a DSU accommodation DON’T HAVE to book an accommodation
at full rent.
The amount of the deduction is established yearly by a Region Lombardy resolution.

Forfeiture of the right
The student assignee of the accommodation lose the benefit in case of:
moving in another university
withdrawal from studies
obtainment of the degree without being enrolled in a subsequent course at
Politecnico di Milano
missing payments for 2 months
application of disciplinary measures provided for in the General Regulations of the
Politecnico di Milano University residences.
2Students with a full scholarship
What happens if:
I’M NOT ELIGIBLE in the FINAL RANKING
The student assignee of an accommodation at reduced rent who is “non eligible” in
the final ranking related to the assignment of the scholarships, can remain in the
assigned residence, but the full rent will be applied starting from the starting date
of the assignment of the accommodation.
IF THE SCHOLARSHIP IS REVOKED
The student enrolled in the first years course and assignee of an accommodation
during the current AY, in case of revocation of the scholarship for lack of merit
requirements, will have to give back to Politecnico di Milano the costs of the
accommodation at reduced rent.
Students with a half-yearly scholarship
Students enrolled in the subsequent years, assignee of a half-yearly scholarship,
who obtain the degree in the 1st semester and don’t want to continue to study at
Politecnico di Milano, can use the accommodation till Feb 10th 2021. Then, they cannot
use any accommodation made available by Politecnico, including the ones at full rent.
What happens if:
I LEAVE THE RESIDENCE EARLY
In case of early departure, we’ll apply to the student the whole deduction from his/
her scholarship.
I DON’T OBTAIN the DEGREE in THE 1st SEMESTER
In case the student does not obtain the degree in the 1st semester, he/she can
use the accommodation till July 31st of the current AY, paying a rent equal to the
deduction applied to the students beneficiary of the scholarship.
The payment of the due rent in the current AY must be done in 2 instalments: the
first one within Feb 1st 2021 and the second one within March 15th 2021.
I OBTAIN THE DEGREE IN APRIL
The student who wants to obtain the degree in april, must cancel the reservation
before the issue of the payment bulletin related to the 2nd instalment, otherwhise
he/she has to pay being able to use the accommodation till the end of the
semester (July 31st 2021).
34. ACCOMMODATIONS AT FULL RENT
Students enrolled or who want to enroll at Politecnico di Milano who don’t apply to
DSU call, can book an accommodation at full rent, upon availability, following the
procedure automatically managed by the on-line reservation system available on the
website www.residenze.polimi.it .
Students at full rent already hosted in the residence during the past AY have a
priority claim during the reservation procedures (respect the other new guests
at full rent). In any case the priority claim does not guarantee the confirmation of
the accommodation. Accommodations occupied by students at full rent in the AY
2019/20 not confirmed by the students with priority claim, will be made available and
bookable by the system.

Bookable periods
Full Academic Year from August 23rd 2020 to July 31st 2021
1° semester from August 23rd 2020 to February 20th 2021
2° semester from February 21st 2021 to July 31 2021
Payment methods and deadlines
The reservation implies the compulsory payment for all the booked period (annual or
half-yearly), independently from the check-in date.
ATTENTION
Once made the reservation it is not possible to switch an annual reservation for a half
– yearly one and vice versa.
It is possible to book an accommodation choosing to pay in one time or by
instalments, using the PagoPA system. The one time payment happens during the
reservation procedure, within 24 h from the request; the payment by instalments
provides for the payment of a 1st instalment during the reservation procedure and
the payment of the subsequent instalments according to the following deadlines:
Payments in instalments for an annual reservation:
The 1st instalment must be paid during the reservation procedure
The 2° one will be required on Oct 1st 2020 and must be paid within 15/10/2020
The 3° one will be required on Dec 1st 2020 and it must be paid within 15/12/2020
The 4° one will be required on Feb 1st 2021 and it must be paid within 15/02/2021
The 5° one will be required on April 1st 2021 and it must be paid within 15/04/2021
Payments in instalments for a half-yearly reservation (1st semester):
The 1st instalment must be paid during the reservation procedure
The 2° one will be required on Oct 1st 2020 and it must be paid within 15/10/2020
The 3° one will be required on Dec 1st 2020 and it must be paid within 15/12/2020
4Payments in instalments for a half-yearly reservation (2nd semester):
the 1st instalment must be paid during the reservation procedure
the 2° one will be required on April 1° and itust be paid within 15/04/2021
the 3° one will be required on June 1° and it must be paid within 15/06/2021.
ATTENTION
It is possible to book an accommodation for the 1st semester only till Nov 16th 2020;
after such deadline it is possible to book the accommodations only for 1 year with
payment in one time.
It is not possible to modify the payment method chosen during the reservation
procedure (in other words it is not possible to change an anticipated payment in one
time to a payment in instalments and vice versa).
A missing payment within the deadline implies the 10% of increase in the instalment
for lateness.
The missing payment of an already increased instalment for lateness implies the
starting of the debt collection procedure, which can imply also the interruption of the
academic carreer. To go on, he student must pay all the debt within the deadlines
established for the enrolling at the final graduation exam.

Terms of booking
Connect to www.residenze.polimi.it > section BOOKING > button BOOKING YOUR
RESIDENCE
If the student has already the Polimi credentials, he/she has to click on the button
LOGIN; otherwise he/she must register first, click on the button ACCREDITATION and
then making the login.
To make the reservation effective, it is necessary to make a payment by pagoPA,
within 24 working hours from the request, according to one of the following methods:
payment in one time: paying the whole discounted amount (and the security
depost, if due)
Payment in bymonthly instalments: paying during the reservation procedure
the 1st of the 5 instalments related to the annual reservation or the 1st of the 3
instalments related to the half-yearly reservation (and the security deposit if due).
Once confirmed the reservation, it is necessary to communicate the expected day
and time of the check-in, according to what described in the related chapter.
ATTENTION
If the payment is not done within 24 working time from the request, the reservation
will be cancelled. The student who books an accommodation and then doesn’t enroll
at Politecnico or doesn’t obtain the entry visa, doesn’t have the possibility to be
refunded of what paid either to have the accommodation.
55. ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE
The MIUR, in accordante with the information shared with the WHO, World Health
Organization, has adopted the IC (International Classification of functioning), which
always describes the functional profile of disabled persons, resulting from their
possibilities and difficulties to interact with the context:
SENS persons with sensory disabilities (blind/ visually impaired / deaf people);
MOTORIE people with motor disabilities (use of the wheelchair / limited mobility/with
or without a guide);
ORG people with organic disabilities (all the possible profiles caused by organic
pathologies/with or without a guide);
PSIC people with mental disorders in growing or of the adulthood (very different
and specific profiles which are not connected to a substandard IQ).
Terms of booking
Applying to the DSU call for scholarship, specifying the kind of disability and the
percentage of disability.
Sending and email at the following email address booking-residenze@polimi.
it, specifying in the subject: “Reservation of particular accommodations” and
specifying the kind of disability and the percentage of disability.
Priority and particular cases
The DSU students who declare the percentage of disability >= 66% have a priority
in the assignment in case they result beneficiaries. It is possible to expect the
presence of a guide (only in case of certified need) both for DSU students and for
students paying the full rent; a reduced rent will be applied if the disabled person
has a disability >= 66%.
International Students with scholarship (Gold/Platinum): rent equal to the amount
defined in each scholarship. Students with a certified disability between 45% and
65%: in case of available accommodations, they can occupy the accommodations
dedicated to disabled people. In case of certified diseases, each single case will be
evaluate in collaboration with the Multichance office.
Rates
The following rates will be applied:
Students beneficiaries of DSU: reduced rent applied to DSU students;
Students at full rent with disability >= 66% : reduced rent applied to DSU students;
Guides for DSU, Gold/Platinum and at full rent students >=66% : reduced rent if the
guide will stay in the same room of the disabled student.
66. SECURITY DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT METHODS
Booking or having in assigment an accommodation implies that, before the check-in,
the student has to pay a security deposit for € 500,00. In case or reservation at full
rent, the security deposit is paid together with the instalment useful to confirm the
reservation.
Once the deposit has been paid (and not refunded), the payment of a new security
deposit will be not required for possible following reservations.
All the payments done by students must be done by PagoPA, following the
instructions published at this link:

7. CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in
Check-in are possible from Monday to Friday ( Italian holidays excluded) from 9:00 am
to 5 pm. It is necessary to tell the direction of the residence and at least 7 days before,
the expected check-in day and time.
To make the check-in it is necessary to go to the residence with:
a valid ID document;
students coming from non EU countries, must also have a passport photo, the
passport and the permit of stay or the receipt of the request for its issue or
renewal.
Check-out
Check-out are possible from Monday to Friday (Italian holidays excluded) within 10.00
am.
ATTENTION
Students who have exams on 31/07/2021, exceptionally, can do the check-out on
August 1st 2021, within 10:00 am.
It is necessary to tell the Direction of the residence and at least 15 days in advance,
the exact date of the check-out, agreeing an appointment with the director. During
the check-out students have t o give back the keys of the accommodation. Personal
stuff, food and beverage cannot be left in the rooms as well as in the apartments.
Following the verification, in presence, of the accommodation’s conditions, the guest
has to sign the check-out paper, stating the good conditions of the accommodation
during the check-out, which is also signed by the direction of the residence. The
check-out paper is one of the documents necessary to ask the refund of the security
deposit, according with the procedure described below.
78. REDUCTION of THE RENT and
CANCELLATION of THE RESERVATION
REDUCTION OF THE RENT FOR DSU STUDENTS
The proportional reduction of the rent, to the effective months of use, will be possible
only in case of:
Participation on International mobility programs;
Serious health reasons duly certified (the health reasons must be related to the
student or to a relative within the second degree of kinship);
Mourning of a relative within the second degree of kinship.
ATTENTION
The student beneficiary of a scholarship who, in the current AY, drops out the studies,
will have to pay a sum equal to the full rent for all the period in which has used the
accommodation.
CANCELLATIONS of the GUESTS at FULL RENT
It is possible to cancel the reservation exclusively in the following cases:
Obtainment of the degree : if, after having booked an accommodation for the
whole year or for the semester, the student obtains the degree in December,
February or April;
Drop out the studies;
Serious health reasons duly certified (the health reasons must be related to the
student or to a relative within the second degree of kinship);
Mourning of a relative within the second degree of kinship.
Refund methods of the reservations at full rent
The student who wants to cancel the reservation can ask the refunf writing an
email and explaining the reason at booking-residenze@polimi.it within the 1st day
of the month in which he wants to stop the contract and he/she has to leave the
accommodation within the end of such month (apart during February, where the
deadline to leave the accommodation is February 22nd 2021).
If the request of withdrawal is accepted, the refund will happen as follow:
• Payments in installments (both ANNUAL and HALF-YEARLY): the student must pay
all the installments issued before the dispatch of the communication; only in case of
obtainment of the degree in April, the guest must communicate the check-out date
within 15/03/21.
• Payment in one time for the WHOLE YEAR:
if the communication is sent within December 1st 2020, the refund is for 50% of the amount;
if the communication is sent within February 1st 2021, the refund is for 30%;
if the communication is sent within April 1st 2021, the refund is for 10%;
In case of payment in one time for the 1st SEMESTER, if the communication is sent
within December 1st 2020, the refund is for 10% of the amount;
In case of payment in one time for the 2nd SEMESTER, if the communication is sent
within April 1st 2021, the refund is for 10% of the amount. .
For all the other cases of withdrawal or shortening of the reservation period, there’s
no right of reducing the deduction from the scholarship (DSU students) either for
being refunded of the paid instalments (students at full rent).
89. REFUND of THE SECURITY DEPOSIT
The security deposit will be given back in total, in absence of penalties and in case
there are no damages to the Politecnico’s properties; on the contrary, the possible
refund will be done after the determination and quantification of the charges.
The refund happens by wire transfer, within 60 days from the request.
Please, send the request of refund to the reference contacts, using the following
subject: “Refund of the security deposit” .
Required details and information:
valid ID document’s or passport’s copy;
check out paper’s copy;
person code.
Before sending the request of refund, please, check if in your personal page in
the on-line services there’s your Fiscal Code; it is also necessary to enter the
student’s bank details in the personal page of the on-line services, following this
path:

ATTENTION
The bank account (or italian postal account) must be headed to the student who
was hosted and send the request of refund.

196 of June 30th 2003 and modified by the subsequent L. D. 101 of August 10th
