SCHOOL NEWS
FRIDAYS AT
ST BERNARD’S
Each Friday all classes take part in science
sessions. Children are learning to observe,
investigate, explore and experiment.
Room 1 have learnt about how plants
grow, the names of parts of plants and what
they are for. They planted cress seeds that
grew into hair for their cup faces.
Room 2 have been learning about separating
and mixing materials. They have learnt
about insulation and had to design and
make a container to insulate an ice cube.
Room 4 researched DNA and then made
edible DNA from liquorice and sweets.
They have also been learning about
different body parts and systems, from
digestion to respiration, to the kidneys.
