A YEAR FOCUSED ON FAMILY
The City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is pleased to be launching its family policy in the spring of 2021—more specifically during Quebec Family Week. At the end of last summer,
we asked citizens to complete an online survey and approached various targeted groups to ask them to share their needs and concerns regarding family. All of your
thoughts and ideas have been gathered and will be used to draft the family policy, intended to help guide the actions taken by the City and by the many organizations
working for you within the territory of Vaudreuil-Dorion. Please note that the City will also obtain MADA (Senior Friendly Municipality) recognition in the interest of getting
our entire community mobilized and working together.
This year’s calendar was made possible in part by the participation of our youth in the City’s day camps. We would like to thank them all for taking part in a drawing
contest under the theme of The Family. Among the hundreds of wonderful drawings produced by the children, twelve were selected to illustrate the 2021 calendar.
Congratulations to these twelve up-and-coming artists! The cover page is a montage of elements from various drawings.
You will notice that this year’s calendar does not include activities proposed by the City’s different departments. Given the current pandemic context, it is difficult to plan
for these activities several months ahead of time, considering we are unsure what will be permitted in accordance with government guidelines. Therefore, we invite you
to regularly visit the City’s Web site and follow our Facebook page to stay informed of activities that will be planned over the coming months. Rest assured that we will
make every effort to ensure you are provided with activities that will be carried out in a safe environment.
Happy New Year! May 2021 be filled with health and happiness!

  A FEW TIPS…
  • To prevent materials from sticking to your bin in the winter, line the bottom • Plastic bags of any kind are prohibited, even if they are compostable,
with newspaper or cardboard. biodegradable or oxo-biodegradable.
  • Rub a little cough ointment (Vicks® VapoRub) along the edge of the lid to keep • To help reduce odours, use a section of your freezer for storing meat/animal
animals away or keep your bin in the garage whenever possible. or foul-smelling waste until the day of collection. You can also sprinkle waste
  • Save time and money by using newspaper or flyers (unwaxed) to create a liner with a deodorizing product such as baking soda. Keep your bin in the shade
for your kitchen bin. and clean it regularly.
  • Watch the Origami pour le bac video on the City’s Web site, under • Wrap meat (raw or cooked) and seafood in newspaper to avoid odours, flies

VAUDREUIL ECOCENTRE
The Ecocentre gives citizens a convenient way to easily dispose of a multitude of residual
materials that would otherwise pose a risk to the environment. By encouraging recovery and
reclamation, a significant amount of waste is diverted from landfills and given a second life. Carrefour de l’espoir : this organization will pick up your
