The Bidding Committee for the XVI. World University Table
Tennis Championship – Maribor 2006 under the patronage

organise the XVI. World University Table Tennis
Championship in the year 2006. The Championship would

would limit or interfere with this event organisation in any
way. All participating teams and individuals will receive a
warm welcome as from a legal standpoint and also from
people and students in Maribor.
We believe the reasons why Slovenia should be chosen as
the organiser of this event are:
Event experience: Slovenia has the know-how in hosting
major tennis table (Slovenia is also a candidate for Euro-
pean Table Tennis Championship 2007) and other sports
events.

                                                               and a very active member of FISU, which seeks opportuni-
                                                               ties to show its skills in organisation of international univer-
                                                               sity sports competitions.
                                                               Sport and accommodation infrastructure: Maribor offers
