Irish Law and Tax
Welcome to the 2020/21 Irish Law and Tax Catalogue.
2020 will be a very exciting year for us here in Bloomsbury Professional in Dublin. We will be
publishing the 6th edition of the prestigious Irish Land Law by JCW Wylie, which follows the
publication last year of the 4th edition of Irish Conveyancing Law by Professor Wylie and
Una Woods. This brings our property law stable right up to date and we know that these
books will be of immense value to many lawyers across Ireland this year.
We are also delighted to announce that we will be publishing the long-awaited Charleton
and McDermott on Criminal Law and Evidence later this year. We were terribly sorry to
hear about the passing of our brilliant author, Paul McDermott SC and this book, which he
worked on tirelessly, will be part of his legacy.
Already published this year we have O’Doherty, Internet Law, and the much-vaunted
The Taxation of Companies, formerly written by Michael Feeney, has been taken over by
Tom Maguire. This year’s edition covers hybrids and transfer pricing, and has a glowing
foreword written by the Minister of Finance.
We have also published a new title, Contract Law for Students, written by our own Eoin
Molloy. We would hope that this will be the go-to book for all students studying for their
FE1s. Also for students, we are bringing out new editions of Fennell, The Law of Evidence in
Ireland and Byrne and McCutcheon on the Irish Legal System.
In addition, we are publishing new editions of the following well established and highly
regarded titles: Andrews, Woods on Liquor Licensing Law; Johnston, Banking and Security
Law in Ireland, and Binchy, Irish Conflicts of Law.
We now have a range of tax products that are available only in online format. They include:
Tax Acts, VAT Acts, Capital Acquisitions Tax Guide, Capital Gains Tax Guide and the
Employer’s PAYE/PRSI Guide. Mark Tottenham BL has also updated the Irish Tax Reports
to 2019.
Please don’t hesitate to contact any of the Bloomsbury Professional team in our Dublin
office, if you would like more information on any of our titles. We would particularly like to
hear from you if you have feedback or suggestions about how we can better meet your
information needs.
